Liverpool rumours:
The Maxi & Chamakh deals are done deals Benitez has asked, and been granted by Purslow, permission to keep the money he gets for Ryan Babel so expect the real work to start here. Liverpool are short of english/homegrown talent for next year so expect any investment to be concentrated on this area. Expect serious interest in th following:
Milner – Villa
Shawcross – Stoke
Cahill – Bolton
Cole – Chelsea Obviously all of these will not happen but DO expect a concerted effort by Liverpool to recruit British players

No bullst i work at st andrews was waitering for a meeting between mcleish and some chinese people don't know there names and apparently two agents one english and the other like south american. i heard two names mentioned zarate and stephen hunt. went home done a bit of rsearech zarate not playin that much and as a blue nse i know how much the fans love him he would be a great marketing player too stephen hunt great work horse good footballer scores a few too. also stephen irelands name is being talked bout a lot round the ground but would citeh sell doubtfull would he come doubtfull. but also know there is a press conference next tuesday don't know wat about tho who knows!!!!!!!!!

Birmingham city Rumours
Mcleish not willing to be held to ransom in this window so probably won't be doing a lot more know except for Hunt from Hull who fits the bill as a hard working midfielder which Mcleish likes the fee will be approx £4million.
However the board want to go big in the summer so expect Mcleish to try and sign Joe Hart, Diamanti, Cahill, Kenwyne Jones, Shawcross, Saha and Santa Cruz in the summer.
Carsley, Mcsheffrey, Martin Taylor, Philipps, O'Connor and Quadrue all set to leave as well.

To the Bournemouth poster that said Eddie Howe will not sell Brett Pitmam, sorry mate but he has already had three firm offers from Barnsley, Blackpool and Milwall.
For my money, £300,000 is a decent wedge for him and the last thing we want is to go back into financial trouble. If we need to sell our best asset then so be it. We will go up anyway this season and the cash will help us consolidate next season.
By the way, Cardiff couldn't afford the petrol money for Brett to get to his local shop, let alone the transfer fee and wages he would take to sign for them.

Doyle to be confirmed from Hull later today, with a very small 50k or less, fee.
Shittu to come on loan also now Doyle has signed permanent as MR doesn't want too many loan players who can't all play together.if this does not materialise then it may be Elliot Ward from Coventry, providing he hasn't already signed at a League 1 club.
Adam LeFondre will be offered a contract but on the same terms as at Rotherham as he is untried above League 2 level.
Also, know of a midfielder from Rochdale and also Wes hoolahan, one of these will be signed.
The german keeper on trial will not be signed, and JayJay Okocha will be signed if he lowers his demands from 10k per week.
Finally an Austrian striker may be brought in of LeFondre doesn't sign.

This will sound crazy – and i've pinched myself but...
...just seen arriving at John Lennon airport this afternoon was none other than Tierry Henry. A contact on the Liverpool Echo who I've quizzed about this was not at all surprised and told me he'd been due to fly in this morning but weather delayed things. He's there to watch the Reading game and will apparently hold talks tomorrow – the grand plan was to have announced his signature today and paraded him at half time this evening but snow has slowed things down.
I think this could be an interesting signing and I'm an Evertonian!

Final report from Brazil as I fly home tomorrow. The will he, won't he Sandro saga looks like it's coming to an end. Speculation in the Brazilian media is his club have agreed a deal. They have told Sandro he is not allowed to talk to the press becuase they fear he will screw it up. As I have said many times before (as it has been reported) Sandro is not keen on the move to Spurs. The deal is being muted as a partnership between Inter and Spurs whereby Inter will send players on trial to Spurs. Any deals will result in Inter keeping 80% of the player rights.

Freddy Adu has just join Aris FC until the summer from Benfica. That deal was done and dusted nearly 2 weeks ago.
Robbie Keane was at Lennoxtown last week but he's been at Celtic Park/Lennoxtown numerous times in the past just visiting.

I work at Celtic Park and we hear a lot of behind the scenes gossip through scouts, agents, etc so here's the latest.In the next few days expect to see a young boy from Australia to be paraded.Not been told his name but is coming from Sydney and is next big thing from Oz, also expect a striker from Pompey, sources say fans will not be disappointed.Utaka or Nugent are names ive been told it could be.Keane transfer still on but happening in summer with Brown going in opposite direction, thats why Rednapp says it will take a bid of £50m to get him so it puts other clubs off.The 2 clubs made a pact last summer at Wembley tourney but Spurs needed Keane to help get them into Europe.Expect Celtic to up bid for St Ledger to £2.5m + McManus which should be enough as Preston don't rate him considering they were willing to sell him to Boro.Any more news i will let you know.

Was on phone to my dad there his pals friend works in the reception at celtic park. This is true by the way she seen robbie keane coming in with his agent, so something is happening wheether he is going on loan or signing she thinks he will be a celtic player by the end of january.
One other bit of news is Semir Stillic is on mowbrays radar and he will be signing in the next day or two.

Sol Campbell will sign for Arsenal, he looks okay against the hammers reserves and Wenger like to have a Mentor like Campbell in the dressing room.
Charlton Cole is close, it's like a rest to see if he is fit before the end of the transfer window, West Ham have their eyes on some fringe players on loan.

David Villa to Arsenal for £25m? That's quite a funny rumour to read to be honest. I know Valencia are having financial trouble at the moment but they will not let him go for £25m especially when they already turned down a £35m bid from Chelsea for him.
Arsenal will only sign 2 players in january. Sol Campbell and Andre Pierre Gignac.

Chelsea will not lose Joe Cole or sign a major name while his team is performing well and reasonably fit.
Liverpool and Man utd are what is known as brasic and any players couped will be at the expense of others at the club.
Man city have money to spend left right and centre, but as soon as a club gets wind city are interested, an extra 10 million gets slapped on there head and prices other clubs out.
Nani, Tosic, and Macheda all to go on loan possibly.
Torres going nowhere.

I just recieved a phonecall from a well connected source that Derby have placed a bid of 750k cash for Mackie, plus Kris Commons. Argyle have made this clear to forest to see what their intentions are. Forest have placed 2 million aside for the deal, but would rather see a multiple player swap deal as Billy Davis as taken forest's finances down the lake without a paddel just like he did at Derby. The players mentioned are Nathen Tyson and Dexter Blackstock.... or one plus 1.25 million cash

I can indeed confirm that Ryan Babel will not feature in tonight's FA Cup replay at Anfield against Reading; further indicating that Rafa and the LFC Board have agreed to bide their time and wait patiently until a buyer comes in with a sustantial offer for the Dutchman.
Rafa is in no rush to sell the young forward and will not be forced into accepting an offer he sees as derogatory.
Mark my words there's lots going on behind the scenes at Anfield, but regarding Ryan, it seems Birmingham can forget it unless they up their offer, so it seems most likely that Ryan will be heading out of England, to either Germany or back to his homeland (his preferred destination).

Eddie Howe will not be leaving Bournemouth as he's already turned down Peterborough and says he wants to finish what he started at Bournemouth. Also as we have a tiny squad of 19 players no one will be leaving, including Pitman. The embargo will rremain to the end of the season but will be lifted in the summer and bournemouth will sign:

Birmingham rumours
The Babel deal may be on again, but McLeish is refusing to budge on the previous offer made. No other club have come in with a realistic bid for Babel and it is obvious Liverpool need to sell. Enquiries have been made for Pavluchenko, Jenas, Hunt, Hamsik and Michael Owen. Though nothing concrete offered. As no players on the wish list seem willing to come to Birmingham the board are putting pressure on McLeish to reconsider marquee signings on very high wages such as Van Nistelroy Van der Vaart and Kuryani. {editor's note – you need to check your sources, Liverpool accepted the offer for Babel, but then Babel rejected it.}

Aberdeen still waiting on Steven MacLean (plymouth)keeping his options open, they are also hoping to bring in stephen dobbie (swansea) depending on getting maguire and paton out on loan.

If you want facts rather than rumours:
LFC:
Maxi is a done deal at 1.5m – passed his medical at Melwood this morning – will be in the stand for FA Cup game v Reading tonight.
Chamakh has signed a pre–contract and will join 1 July – but this will not be announced until later this month.
Onuoha is still a possiblity – but currently injured hence no real progress until it is established how long he is out for.
Babel will not be leaving in January as Rafa still feels he has the potential to be world class. If he shines for the Dutch in the World Cup, Rafa knows he could get as much as £20m in the Summer.
Degen is still rated by Rafa and with Johnson out till March, he stay as cover and will not be sold until Summer earliest.
Arabs will be in place by March buying Gillett but will not mean unlimited transfer budget asper Man Citeh – their efforts will be to produce new stadium.
Other main targets in the Summer to fit the young(ish) and English policy will be:
Milner – Villa
Shawcross – Stoke
and the shock possibility of Joe Cole signing on a free – Ancellotti is unsure of him (which is madness!) and will bring in load of players from Serie A.
Torres & Gerrard are going nowhere as they have only recently signed extended contracts.
Why would Torres to go to Man Citeh? As an ex–Athletico player if you know your football he would never go to Real.

I'm a plumber and got called out to boruc's house in bearsden to repair the heating. We got chatting, even though im a big rangers man i thought he was brand new. Anyway i was asking who was coming and going in his team and he said scott mcdonald was for the off, him and mogga never got on from day one and he was being touted around premiership clubs. But his replacement would be robbie keane, he had already been up at lennoxtown and had talks with the club. I can also confirm that mr boruc makes a sht cup of tea!

Strong rumours coming from anfield that a bid of £18 million is going to be tabled for James Milner it is thought the move won't happen till summer but a bid is being submitted now to unsettle the player. It is thought should Liverpool finish in the top 4 this season they will have a strong chance of signing him.

Midlands rumours –
Wolves
Will complete the signing of Stephen Hunt by Saturday for 3 million. Chris Iweuluemo wants to leave as he is not getting enough action, so Mick McCarthy will sell him to Blackpool (2 million) to replace Charlie Adam. Mick will replace Iweuleumo (sorry for the spelling) with Jermaine Beckford, Wolves have already had a 3.5 million bid accepted by Leeds.
Birmingham
Liverpool's owners have done a u–turn, they are now willing to sell Ryan Babel, so he will go to Birmingham for £10 million, and will be joined by Kenwyne Jones (11 million), Paul Konchesky (8 million) and Joe Hart on a permenant basis (7 million)
Villa
Villa are keen on getting rid of John Carew, and replacing him with a striker who can do something different. I've heard that Carew will replace Kenwyne Jones at Sunderland for 6 million, and the interesting rumour is that Thierry Henry will move for 10 million, so Barcelona find space for David Villa in the summer.
Forest
Will be busy, Shorey to sign 3 million, Majeswki 3 million, have made a 3 million bid for Beckford but that was rejected. Many more i'm sure
Leicester + Derby

Liverpool will sell Ryan Babel to Hamburg for £10.3m and Philipp Degen to Stuttgart for £2m. With £6.2m already in the bank following Dossena and Voronin's transfers, it will give Rafa £18.5m to spend this January. Cardiff City going to sign Stephen McGinn in aboy a week for 400k, he's agreed a contract, the transfer, will be confirmed immediately after Cardiff pay their debts.
He is a replacement for Solomon Taiwo as he will be going on loan to Colchester.
Cardiff are holding contract talks with Garry Kenneth, a defender from Dundee United for approximately 550k.
As a striker, Brett Pitman of financially struggling Bournemouth has been linked, but talks have stalled, the clubs can't yet agree a fee.
Aaron Mclean won't be joining, Peterbrough want 1.7m, which DJ thinks is too much.

Falkirk will look to bolster their midfield options with the signing of giant Welshman Andy Mumford from Llanelli. Ross Wilson is said to be impressed with Mumford's technical ability and feels his fitness could be managed effectively with a move to full time football.
Falkirk are also said to be keen on bringing Portuguese defender Tiago back to the club, with Darren Barr's move to Hibs expected to go through within the next days.
Falkirk will also tie up a loan move for Enoch Showumni of Leeds United and pitch him in against Celtic from the start.
Dani Mallo could move to Falkirk on loan as he has been frozen out at Spanish club Girona. There have been enquiries about current Bairns' keeper Robert Olejnik from Germany.

Liverpool may renew their interest in Roque Santa Cruz. Rafa's had his eye on him for a long time, before City snapped him up in the summer. However, things seem to be changing across town... Out of the multitude of City strikers Santa Cruz has struggled to make an impact. With Benjani fit again (and already impressing) it only makes matters worse for him. He was one of the first players approached by Hughes but now the pecking order is also changing. Under Mancini Tevez is clearly flourishing as the main front man, and its more likely that the new manager would prefer the physical strength of Adebayor/Benjani as support to Tevez. Then there's still Robinho (who won't be sold, at least for now), and Bellamy, who again has been in good form and has that pace & aggression that works well with Tevez. Santa Cruz may be an automatic choice for Paraguay's WC Squad for this June, but he wants regular starts as much as anyone.
