Celtic to sign Michael Owen fro Newcastle, as he is unsettled at St. James and currently looking for a club where he can play Champions League football. He would also be eligible to play in champs league last 16 this season.
He will arrive for a medical on Monday, and is expected to be unveiled alongside Mizuno and Van Buyten, who are both close to agreeing terms also.

Now Skrtel has signed for Liverpool for £6.5 million do not expect any more players comming in January unless they are youngsters for the future.
Momo Sissoko will complete a £10 million move to Juve very soon.
In the Summer however, Scott Carson will leave for £10 million and Liverpool will sign up Mascherano for £17 million. John Arne Riise will move to Valencia for £6 million (no swap deal) Rafa will replace him with Wayne Bridge for £7 million. Opare will come in for £1.5 million as Benitez sees him as the next Cafu. The other player that will come in is Matias Fernandez for a bargain £4 million. He can play on either wing, in the hole or up front. He will not really be part of the squad until he is fully settled in Liverpool.
Benitez will not have that much funds this year and so will have to rely on the squad just built. These dealings will mean he has spent about £10 million
Liverpool Summer signings:
Benitez will not get a lot of money to spend this Summer but will rely on his current squad and some youngsters coming through. Anyway, Benitez is hoping that now the team has come together, they will play better next season.
Wayne Bridge (7 million)
Opare (1.5 million)
Matias Fernandez (5 million)
Javier Mascherano (17 million)
Liverpool will then sell:
John Arne Riise (6 million)
Scott Carson (10 million)

Andrey Voronin (1.5 million)
Kewell and Hyypia will seal new contracts.
Celtic Home Truths
Hoop fans should dampen down their expectations.
Larsson will not sign on again at Celtic Park despite Scottish press speculation today to that effect. The probability is that his ambivalent position about the possiblity of such a move is simply a coded signal to others ( Man United? Liverpool? ) that he is available. Similarly neither is Van Buyten interested, again the leaks to the press of this possible move are likely to be agent led and designed to put EPL clubs on notice. Furthermore the honest truth is that the Celts January budget ( always much smaller than the Summer one ) was pretty much exhausted by the desperately needed swoop for Hinkel. Although a forward would be nice, the club will soldier on with JVH and McDonald. Zurawski may go if there is a decent bid as may Riordan. If that is allowed to happen back up to the main two will be from Killen, youngster O'Brien who can play through the middle, and Jarosik who can also play there at a pinch. A centre back is needed and yje likely move if Rob Jones who will be cheap and demand modest wages. Sno will go on loan to Osasuna, and some of the reserves to Scottish first division clubs.

Sad times at Forest. Calderwod is identifying targets and the negotiating team is losing them. Best, Chaplow, Wallwork and Danns all lost this week.
Taylor will still sign from non league. Forest fans are relieved that Coventry turned down £1 million for Best an unproven forward. Other options are Fryatt, David Connolly, Billy Sharp (on loan) and Jay Boothroyd and all for half that price.
Dan the frustrated main Man
Liverpool are lining up Fred as a replacement for Peter Crouch in the Summer. Fred will stay at Lyon until the end of the season to get his dream move to Liverpool for £10 million. Crouch will be going to Newcastle with Jermaine Pennant for £17 million. Liverpool will secure the signing of Javier Mascherano. Riise (5 million) Voronin (1 million) Sissoko (10 million) Carson (10 million) will all leave in the Summer. Matias Fernandez (5 million) Wayne Bridge (6 million) and Jeremy Menez (7 million) will all come in.
I am Selling Chris Baird's (Fullham) House, he is moving up to Sheffield, as he will be signing for Sheff United towards the end of the month.
HEider Helguson has recently bought a 4 bed detatched house in Rickmansworth (Watford) and is renting out his property in Manchester as he is to make a return move to Watford, to replace the departing Marlon King (Fullham).
Aidy Boothroyd will table an offer of £2.5 million for Middlesborough Winger Adam Johnson who is unhappy at playing second string to Downing.
Norwich boss Glenn Roeder has recently released David Strihavka and Julien Brellier. These releases, coupled with the sales of Lewis and Brown, have freed up a fair amount of money for Roeder to spend in January.
Already signed is Matty Pattison from Newcastle with Mo Camara, Ched Evans and Ryan Bertrand joining on loan from Derby, Manchester City and Chelsea respectively.
Roeder is also keen about Newcastle duo Peter Ramage and Shola Ameobi; however, the managerial situation at Newcastle and Ramage's injury are currently holding those deals at bay.
Beyond that, Roeder is looking at Plymouth's David Norris, Sunderland's David Connolly and Carlos Edwards and Sheff United's Chris Armstrong. He's also had a bid rejected for Hartlepool's James Brown.
LeScott is on the verge of a £14 million move to Arsenal. Uncle works at the ground 100 percent true
Robert Green will be staying with the Hammers, if he was to go anywhere he would move up not down the league to Tottenham and knows he can become England's number 1 with the Hammers.
Curbs will snap up 17 year old Argentinian Mazzola from Inter and re–sign Defoe after Fred moves to Tottenham. Curbs will also buy and loan back Giles Barnes until the end of the season. Lastly Curbs will smash the transfer record to bring Tiago to Upton Park.
Quashie, Dailly and Davenport to leave this window and Curbs will review performances of a number of players in the Summer when he will be given a big kitty to push the club into the top 6.
I am sure that Mascherano will be joining FC Barcelona.

Stewart Downing to Tottenham £12 million
dimitrov to Arsenal 800 k
It is true that Wane Bridge will be coming to Anfield in the Summer. Rafa does not have a lot of money to spend in the Summer but wants to ensure that Bridge joins. He will cost about £7 million and will replace Riise who will leave for around £6 million. Aston Villa, Valencia and Manchester City are interested. Carson will make a £10 million move to Villa. Although he has not been on top form this season, O'Neill is sure that Carson will only improve. Momo will be sold to Juve for £10 million and this will be put forward to sign Mascherano permenantly for £17 million. Liverpool will also sign a pacey left winger in the shape of Jeremy Menez for about £8 million. This will mean Babel can play in his preferred role–as a forward. Voronin will make way for around £1 million. Matias Fernandez will also join for £5 million but he will be given a lot of time to settle. Benitez thinks he is a talent but will need a lot of time to settle.
All these transfers mean that Rafa will be spending about £10 million NET.

I hear from someone in the know at Parkhead that Celtic are in the process of tying up a deal for Lyon's Brazilan forward Fred, Paris St. Germain were favourites, but Celtic have offered to make him the highest paid player in the club's history. He will sign a five year deal in the next few days
Spoke to Daniel Cousin in Ibrox car park next to Edmiston house. Said hel be going to the EPL in the Summer but not to who.
Some of the Scottish Premier League rumours on this site are not even worthy of the name. Just fantasies really. The point is to try and cyber share genuine inside knowledge not download made up nonsense or pure guesses.
Anyhow, here is the real deal:
a) Celtic will not sign anyone else this January. Money is tighter at the club than many think. Lawell now views the Summer as the only time for substantial moves. Some concern too re return obtained to date from major investments such as Gravesen, Jarosik, JVH, Donati, and even lesser ones such as Riordan, Wilson, Sno and Pressley. Any funds from qual for last 16 of ECL will be used next term. On departures front only Sno and Riordan may go if a decent fee can be got, but no one else – not even Bobo.
b) Rangers – SDM will now back Smith in final push for title they see as within grasp. To finish Celtic off expect to see last minute signings of big EPL players to add class to bedrock provided by powerful Scottish players who have been bought to date. Idea is to buy late as poss to prevent Celtic plunging in to market in response. Expect bids for Wayne Bridge, Jermaine Defoe and Wes Brown. They are expensive by recent Ibrox standards but for various reasons will present good value ( out of favour/end of contract nigh etc. ) and are young enough to have some resale value later on. Hutton may still go if he changes his mind re leaving as the cash would come in handy and Whittaker is an adequate replacement in a non essential position, but even without this SDM will move as powerful new income streams are likely to develop in coming years if Rangers can re–establish themselves as the pre eminent side in Scotland.
Celtic to have a major redevolpment of Parkheads main stand and surrounding areas for the Commonwealth games, to be paid by Glasgow District Council
Celtic also close to signining Danish under 19s forward Laj Jon Wasawar.
CELTIC NEWS: To the person who said Boruc is going to Manchester City. he has signed on to 2011 only last week.
Celtic will however be selling Graveson to a high ranking Championship side and Zurawski to Reading once they have sold Doyle.
There will be few signings until the Summer but players coming in to add to Hinkel and Mizuno will be McFadden and Paul Scharner.

FC Barcelona do not wish to keep hold of Ronaldinho, a number of teams are interested but he will snub Liverpool to sign for Inter. This is a dead cert as my cousin works for FC Barcelona and he passed the info to me. I do not know the price or if it is a loan deal or permanent but.
You might recall me metioning a few days back that a good friend of mine 'olly' works for the FA in the youth acadamy and though it's vague he has said that Paul Allen has had numerous meetings with some financial advisor set up with the FA about a takeover bid for Sheff Wednesday. he has contacted them as they have some information about the clubs finances but not enough for a firm takeover. the best news is that Almunia has been thanked for response over taking English citizenship but he will not be called up. The Birmingham Mail have printed a report that Henrik Larrson is too sign for AVfc on loan until the end of the season. Interesting as today he has said "no" to the Hoopla's.
Also as others have stated J Defoe's lady is reported to be house hunting in the area. Could be a good month for AVfc?
