And yet he isn't even first choice left back for England
Agree0

He should be first chioce for england now ive seen his stats up against ashley cole and baines stats are better
Agree0
Disagree0
Cole gets chosen because he's played for England longer and knows the players in the england team welll so gels better but give it another year and Baines will definitely be first choice.

Good luck to you.

Southampton boss Nigel Adkins is very close to sealing four deals over the weekend as he feels he needs his squad for before pre season.
Adkins is very keen on making a bid for Aston Villa midfielder Gary Gardner. The 19 year old could cost the Saints around £5 million but the former Coventry loanee fits into the newly promoted Premier League club transfer policy.
Another defender close to signing is West Brom player Gareth McAuley. The former Ipswich and Leicester centre half is expected to cost around £2 million and is keen on a move to Southampton after Roy Hodgson recently signed a deal to become the new England manager.
Blackburn midfielder Jason Lowe handed in a transfer request this morning after Rovers got relegated on Monday and is wanting a move to a Premier League club. The 20 year old has already held talks with Adkins with a view to a four year deal, with money not being an issue for Saints.
Finally, Bolton youngster Michael O'Halloran is set to sign on loan for the season. The 21 year old wants first team football again for another season with his loan spell at Sheffield United set to finish, and could move out of the Reebok again for another term.

Southampton possible signings (Obviously not all of them):
Matt Phillips/Tom Ince/Snodgrass/Zaha
Lukaku (Loan)/Kevin Doyle/ Jerome (Loan)
Turnbull/ Al-Habsi
Scott Dann/Zat Knight/Whitbread
People who say about Zaha won't join because bigger clubs want him, give it a rest, atleast if he was to join Southampton, he would get a lot of first team football.

A deal with potential is Agbonlahor to Southampton.
The player needs a confidence boost, spent too long at Villa, England hopes have drifted away
Could get a new lease of life at Saints and is well adapted to play to the quick pass style

Oh mate that did make me laugh lol

Im a wolves fan n agbonlahor wouldnt leave not when hes captin n if he was going to leave it would be to a top 6 club i doubt you could afford his right leg
Agree0

First of all Agbonlahor is not good enough for a top 6 side, second Saints could afford him if they wanted, third cant imagine he would leave Villa, he is a local lad and seems to love the club.

the truth is we are stable wiv a surplus for players however we r not leicester who seem to spend so much and then finish mid table but it is evident that we are a decent force in the transfer market as promotion and money will make us buy decent players we wont buy more than 5 players i reckon as we r not lookin for promotion we r over our heads if we just progress like swansea then we will do well from wat ive herd mainly s**t but francois zoko and paul cotts seem like reachable targets aswell as diego poyet jordan cousins and a couple uvver yungstas being offered deals if we keep the squad together work hard combined wiv supportive fans we maybe maybe maybe hav a shot at the play offs but dont expect to hav a repeat of last season cmon u addicks my final prediction charlton to finish 11th

Tayor is worth 2.5Mil + easy He's 4 years Younger than CMS & when you take that into account he certinaly has the potential to be better than CMS they scored a similar amount of goals in the championship this season CMS did'nt exactly bang them in evey week like he did for us. Jay Rodriguez close to 5M move to Everton
doubtful seen as we have already rejected 5m from Fulham and 5.5 in January from Southampton.
Believable2
Unbelievable3
Wouldn't say it's doubtful just because offers were rejected in January. Values are often inflated in January because clubs don't want to lose their best players with little chance to replace them. He is 5 months closer to the end of his contract with Burnley, and they have ample time to find a replacement with some of that £5 million. Also wouldn't be selling directly to a rival club. £500,000 difference isn't much in football terms and could purely be the difference between selling mid-season or post-season.
