Whats all this talk of getting rossi for 24mil? In january spurs bid around 34mil so why would they, villareal, sell for 10mil less. Ed what do you think his price would be? {Ed003's Note - in my opinion, in todays market £18m tops,just my opinion}

Donny Rovers desperately enquiring around Prem/Championship clubs as to whether they've got any strikers that could be loaned to them until January. Yesterday's game against Brighton saw their two first-choice strikers stretchered off, leaving Donny's injury list at 9 first team players.

It's understood that possible targets for Donny may include Jonathan Franks of Middlesborough, Lee Barnard of Southampton and Ryan Noble of Sunderland.

Bristol City are going to open the books and let Nicky Maynard leave. The opening day hiding at the hands of a fairly average Ipswich side has confirmed that their Defence is as poor as usual and, regardless of the BC fans bleating on and on about how much money they have, Bristol can't buy until they sell. Maynard will generate enough money to buy a defence (of sorts) although they now won't get as much as they hoped cos Sven is chasing Long, and every other striker in the free world, plus a North Korean bloke...

Fairly average side little jealous I think Ipswich championship contenders

all these english people commenting about celtic and rangers get a grip after 2 year down there with the money you generate in the epl. and the attraction of it to players .celtic and rangers would be top 6 every year after we got into epl from lower leagues witch would b 1 year in each league then promotion no problem no one wants to sign for us coz the spl is s*it .fact

Believable2 Unbelievable2

To be fair celtic are a bigger club than chelsea n have more fans and more european cups etc, just actual facts there

Agree0 Disagree0

Globally Celtic have more supporters clubs than any other team

Agree0 Disagree0

Thats not true , did u count them, liverpool have most in asia along with man united, also those 2 have big fan bases in norway n denmark , in republic of ireland and northern ireland also, celtic are big globally but not as big as big 2 in liverpool n man u

Agree0 Disagree0

Also the song 'You'll Never Walk Alone' was first sung at Celtic.....fact
It was hijacked by Liverpool

Agree0 Disagree0

Celtic are a much bigger club than Liverpool, they might just not be as successful on the pitch historically. Come along to Hampden for a proper atmosphere with passionate fans rather than day trippers

Ipswich have offered Matthew Upson a 3yr contract. Upon seriously considering joining due to lack of prem offers and being originally from the area.

Do you really think upson will join Ipswich how can they pay his wages he is going to want high wages what is your source for upson coming to Ipswich

They have offered what they can afford - £15k per week. Not saying he will take it but the offer is there - like I said his options are limited by lack of interest and he has ties to the area

Ok but I ask what your Soucre is I have seen nothing or heard nothing about Ipswich even looking at upson let alone giving him a offer

King Kenny to bid £2m for the inflatible beach ball that scored past them last season for Sunderland. He sees it as having less injury problems than Andy Carroll

Believable0 Unbelievable3

That beach ball won't sign for the scousers i heard it wants european football scousers never qualify for that these days and it is probably worth more than carroll

Agree0 Disagree0

Spose anything better than that pile of s**te torres, good shout
ronnie rosenthalls balls

Agree0 Disagree0

It was the season before. Good prospect that ball though. It has more intelligence than Carroll.

Agree0 Disagree0

Beach ball: Prem: 1 app 1 goal.

Fernando Torres for Chelsea: Prem: 14 apps 1 goal.

Oh dear.

Agree0 Disagree0

Torres carried your average team for 2 years, without him, you would have been in the relegation fight. He also allowed you to buy Carol the donkey, for £35 million + add on's. ahaha, now thats funny.

Agree0 Disagree0

And then theres luis suarez,

Agree0 Disagree0

Andy Carroll scored 13 goals in 24 appearances last season in total. Fernando Torres scored 10 goals in 37 appearances in total. Chelsea paid £50mill for Torres with a return of 1 goal in 14 appearances. Liverpool paid £35mill for Carroll with a return of 2 goals in 5 appearances. Now that is a hell of a lot more funny.

Agree0 Disagree0

Lol 18 goals from 25 games last season for donkey carrol and 3 in 5 in preseason, torre is crap

Agree0 Disagree0

Liversmall philosophy, long high balls football. What a sad little club, who used top be a decent side a long time ago.
Carol the donkey is carp, but then he did join a mid table side with no euro football.

Agree0 Disagree0

Suderland fan here. We are waiting for a better offer from Newcastle. They will need to shore up their defence when Enrique goes.

Agree0 Disagree0

If you've got a big striker up front of course your gonna play the ball up to him you dope. Thats basic football knowledge. If a donkey can score goals, what does that say about Torres, eh? Boom, sit down son

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes sit rite down , if torres was out playing in me garden id close the curtains

Agree0 Disagree0

Well that couldn't happen, living in Liverpool i very much doubt you even have a garden

Agree0 Disagree0

Who says he lives in Liverpool, Columbo?

Agree0 Disagree0

Thats a fair point, but it dosn't take Miss Marple to work out that if he lived in Liverpool he would more than likely support Everton anyway. So if he's a Liverpool fan i'll take a guess that he lives in Bristol, Southampton or maybe even Torquay and definately dosn't have a scouse accent

Agree0 Disagree0

So now your saying its more than likely that Everton fans only live in Liverpool? And that your only a Liverpool fan if you have a scouse accent? Are you for real?

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Aug 2011 12:00:14
So has he left Liverpool now has he? All LFC fans hate him because he wanted to go and win things, you adored him and swore by him til he left. He got put in a team where he cannot play with the other striker, Drogba as they are incompatible, he's not gone rubbish overnight. Once they get the right partner for him, he'll be scoring 25 a season. Form is temporary, Class is PERMANENT.

Agree0 Disagree0

We don't hate him, we dislike him for the way in which he left. Same with Mascherano. We appreciate what he did, but to see him struggle at Chelsea, thats obviously funny from our point of view.

big concerns over chelsea, ageing team , young novice manager with a no patience owner plus a 50mill striker whos not at the races, 50million sub, villas boas to end up on the dole with scolari grant and ancellotti

Believable1 Unbelievable2

Not many teams can boast of a £50m sub. Ageing team, i wouldn't go that far....Lampard and Drogba are 33 but still have 2 years at the top in them. (Drogba is fitter and has had less injuries than Andy Carroll already).
McEachran, Van Aanholt, Sturridge, Lukaku, Luiz, Bertrand...the future is very bright for Chelsea. To win the Prem you need a healthy mix of youth asnd experience. You don't right off world class players just because they hit 33. Just look at Ryan Giggs..........that comment must of been posted by a paranoid Liverpool fan

Agree0 Disagree0

Andy Carroll has got knees of a 42 year old, i'd be more concerned of that

Agree0 Disagree0

Andy carrols(scoring for fun pre season)) ponytail wil score more goals than torres, , terry 32 benayoun 31 anelka 32 cech 32 cole 31 , chelsea are old,
ronnie rosenthalls balls

Agree0 Disagree0

Chelsea ran out of steam early doors last season cos of that old ass team, not many teams have young players like suso raheem sterling n morgan, google them bad boys

Agree0 Disagree0

Cech is 29, you know nothing about football, liverfool are crap.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeh you person john terry is only 30, are you thick or what, chelsea will stuff you scousers twice this season torres will score as will lukaku, easy 6 pts for the blues

Agree0 Disagree0

Lol....Ran out of steam early on , Chelsea won their first 8 games you plank. Their problem was injuries in key areas (Cole, Terry, Lampard, Essien and Droba) and their lack of depth in their squad.
Cech is 29 my friend, thats still young for GK, and in the top 3 keepers in the world.
We've just signed his long term replacement, highly rated Thibaut Courtois and have loaned him to Athletico Madrid.
Yes Anelka and Drogba are 32 and 33 but Sturridge is 22, Lukaku is 18, Kalou is 26, Torres 27, that is a young forward line

Agree0 Disagree0

Andy Carroll may score more than Torres as Torres will be on the bench. He won't score more than Drogba though....in fact Carroll won't even out score Lampard who is a midfielder and apart from last season which he missed 20 games has scored 20 goals plus for last 6 seasons

Agree0 Disagree0

Got to love Liverpool fans who jump in without getting their facts right. Here is a list of players in the first team squad at Chelsea under the age of 25:

Van Aanholt - 21, McEachran - 18, Sturridge - 21, Gakuta - 20, Luiz - 24, Lukaku - 18, Bruma - 19, Ramires - 24, Romeu - 19, Rajkovic - 22, Bertrand - 22.....lets not forget Modric who is 26 and could sign within the next week

Agree0 Disagree0

Liverpool arn't exactly the Busby Babes themselves and have alot of players wrong side of 30. In fact they have more players over 30 in their first team squad than Chelsea do :
Gerrard 31
Carragher - 33
Krygiakos - 32
Kuyt -31
Poulsen - 31
Rodriguez - 30

Agree0 Disagree0

If i was a Liverpool fan i'd be more concerned with getting their defence sorted out. Have no defensive depth within their squad and on paper the weakest back 4 in the top 6 Prem teams.
Conceeding 15 goals in pre-season isn't a great sign

Agree0 Disagree0

Lol rodriguez wont play nor will kyrygiakos and poulse, 1st team im talking bout, kelly 21 agger 26 johnnson 25 suarez 24 adam 26 downing 27 lucas 23 carrol 21 reina 28,flanagan 18 robinson 17 , spearing 22,all these lads u mentioned with exeption of rmirez luis n maybe sturridge will play, liverpool will hump u 2wice again

Agree0 Disagree0

McEachran will play, Van Aanholt won't yet but thats because he's got the best left back in the world in front of him but he's ready to step in eventually.
Can't beleive Krygiakos won't get in, best defender in the world

Agree0 Disagree0

I've heard that Lucas will be leaving

Agree0 Disagree0

Looking forward to next weekend when Liverpool lose at home to the mighty Mackems

Agree0 Disagree0

Anelka & Benyoun won't be regulars. Only Drogba, Lampard and Cole will be. Thats 3 players over 30.
Liverpool over 30 starters, Gerrard, Kuyt and Carragher, thats 3 starters.
Stop clutching at straws, we'll finish above you lot

First of all to thank dalglish on going for downing over mata everyone has there own opinion but mata would of been the more riskier option and downing looked physically better and sharper than mata last night.

My other point is that I believe to challenge for a top 2 finish we need 3 more players
A CB , LB and back up ST

For CB my fisrt choice would be shawcroos he's young, great in the air and is vocal so we wouldent miss carra as much ( try a 15m bid an if that gets rejected go for cahill who I recon is similiar too agger an we need a more commanding CB like shawcross try 12m for cahill ( dann last choice )

At LB I would test everton with a 15m bid for baines as they need money desperatly but if that gets rejected go for enrique 8m who is spanish an would be a gift for reina as all off his spanish team mates have left

Lastly ST now that chelsea have signed lukaku( quality player btw) they might let sturridge go he would be ideal as he's a good back up striker an could also play RW (short on opinions there) test them with a 13m Bidt we have a good relationship with chelsea since cole, benayoun and torres but the rivalry might just be to big to stop that deal . If that fell through I would bid 8m for shane Long very pacey and knows were the back of the net is (reminds me of augero an I don't no why :/ )

Any of the 6 targets I have mentioned from above would improve are team but I have stated my prefered 3 which would cost around 45m ( which is a lot ) but the otheer 3 would cost around 30m but it all depends on who we get rid off Trust in the king YNWA

Believable0 Unbelievable1

Sturridge wouldn't be a back up option mate, he'd be in your first team

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm hoping Sturridge gets more chances at Chelsea this season, so far in pre-season he's been red hot.
But even if Chelsea decided to sell him can't see him wanting to go to Liverpool as a 'back up striker', he's hungry and ambitiousso he'd move to a team where he'd get regular first team football. Why leave Chelsea where you're a squad player to go to Liverpool as a squad player. If anything he would more likely want to go to Spurs, Arsenal, Sunderland Bolton etc

Agree0 Disagree0

Sturridge is to good for liversmall.
If they were to sign him, the price would be £25 million +.
