arsenal have wrecked there chances on buying Juan Mata as he had a release clause of 21million which was effective till 1st august which has passed

Believable0 Unbelievable0

His release clause is now triple that amount, if valencia want serious money , then dont expect arsenal to sign him.

Agree0 Disagree0

He was crap at anfield, thank god we bought downing, he was gr8, mata too skinny and lite

after huge losses last season, Wolves are being forced to sell high earners. Doyle is going to Newcastle for 8m - near done deal.

Huge losses? Wolves are one of the few clubs in the Premiership that ISN'T in debt And if Doyle was going to leave why would he go to Newcastle?

chelsea are signing plenty of younger players, lucas piazon, gael etock, oriol romeu, romelu lukaku thibaut courtois, brilliant signings for the future to add to the likes of david luiz, ramirez, josh mceachran, ryan bertrand, danny sturridge, van aanholt, tomas kalas, raijkovic and theres more to mention we definitely don't have an ageing squad when you look at these players the future looks very bright for the club we may even still sign the likes of modric yet i'd say the club is being revitalised for years to come fantastic.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

No one still likes you lot though

Agree0 Disagree0

Think you're right, yes Drogba, Lampard are nearing the end but still got another 2 seasons left in them at this level. McEachran is the future England captain and Van Aanholt is a ready made replacement for Ashley Cole

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeh there are others jeffrey bruma on loan at hamburg, jacob mellis, nathaniel chalabah, billy clifford, milan lalkovic, sam walker on loan at northampton, the club is in safe hands for many years to come, we also have a young manager in AVB who will make these players better im sure

Agree0 Disagree0

You will loan them all out What do you always do? Buy,buy, buy. When have you lot ever used your own young players? You even bought Sturridge and loaned him out.

Agree0 Disagree0

Gives them experience, thats why there loaned out see what its done for sturridge, bolton used him well and did a good job with him.

Agree0 Disagree0

Alot of top players are loaned out in their early stages of their careers to help them gain valuable first team experience. Its hard for youngsters to break into any Premiership first team as most are full of international players. No decent manager would just drop a 16 or 17 year old straight into a first team. Look at Wiltshire, he went to Bolton. John Terry to Notts Forest.
Liverpool have do it as their first team isn't that strong

Agree0 Disagree0

Liverpool players out on loan:
Peter Gulacsi - Hull City
Martin Hansen - Bradford City
Stephen Darby - Rochdale

Man Utd Players out on loan:
Utd currently have 11 players out on loan

Arsenal players out on loan:
Denilson - Sao Paulo
James Shay - Dag & Red
Kyle Bartley - Rangers

Chelsea players out on loan:
sam walker - northampton
j bruma - hamburg

Man City playerss out on loan:
9 Players out on loan last season

Spurs players out on loan:
Dos Santos
Keane
Bentley
Not including youngsters

if you spend years investing and developing youngsters you don't just sell them if they can't break into the first team at 17. Loaning out players is important

liverpool fans think cos the rest of us give them so much banter about their team ,its cos we are all jealous. no its not,its cos its great to see the mighty fall,to see a club who once lorded it over us ,now struggling behind clubs who are historically smaller than them is funny,so we enjoy these moments, the same would happen if utd was to fallout of the top 4 .

Believable5 Unbelievable2

Don't forget they're also usually the fans slating other teams for trying to 'Buy the league'....oh what is King Kenny trying to do, he can't chuck his money around quick enough. He loves a spend up, with the money Liverpool have spent this year anything other than top 3 would be dreadful.......reality is they still won't break the top 4

Agree0 Disagree0

Ah theyll win it, diff is liverpool built up their money , chelsea were a leeds waiting to happen only 4 ambramovich , shud all leave your names after ur posts so i can seek u out wheen liverpool smack f@@k out of the rest, since king kenny came back hes whacked city united chelsea etc, and improved the squad and a full season for suarez n gerard to come back, ur all fools

ronnie rosenthalls balls

Agree0 Disagree0

You honestly do think you'll win it aswell, Liverpool fans are the most ignorant and deluded fans in the country. By xmas you will of realised you've got another season of dissapointment ahead of you and another season of playing on Thursday nights on Channel 5.
Do you really think you'll finish above Utd and City, come on don't get carried away mate.
I bet the bookies love Liverpool fans, every year for the last 20 seasons they all run down and bet on them winning the league....you've got to love them

Agree0 Disagree0

Hold on whats this...a liverpool fan thinking they'll win the league this year.........don't they ever learn ??
got to love their optimism.....even if it is totally unrealistic

Agree0 Disagree0

Bet most of you arm chairs dont even go the match have the balls to leave ya name and say were your from

ste liverpool

Agree0 Disagree0

Give it a rest ste, why do you need to know where people are from, banter mate.

Agree0 Disagree0

You give it a rest, theres banter and utter crap

ste liverpool

Agree0 Disagree0

I like how alot of people are writing off Liverpool off before the season has even started I've got a feeling they're gonna suprise a lot of people, maybe not title challengers, but will probably be in a battle for that 4th spot, probably with Arsenal and Tottenham, which is the aim by the way. Many people think they can see into the future, its amazing.

Agree0 Disagree0

What difference does it make if i leave my name and where i live ??

Agree0 Disagree0

Ste i know its the school holidays and you havn't got school at the moment so you might want to stay up late tonight and watch the History channel, theres a documentary about the successful Liverpool side of the 80's

Agree0 Disagree0

Great I notice that no other documentary's on on other clubs history are showing on the History Channel. Ah I know, must be because Liverpool have a glorious history

Agree0 Disagree0

You boys keep chip at liverpool , maximus from big boy street sorry high street age 33 , sorry potters bar why?aka smudge from the dating site think what ste means is post your teams names but we know its cry baby chelsea , jt boo hoo , and man utd fans ,sent my blackpool down and you were a joke in the champ final , barcelona 90 % ,get your own heads out of your own arses , didnt liverpool beat u

ste liverpool

Agree0 Disagree0

NEVER won premier league ste have you thats what most fans are trying to get across to you be it chelsea or utd fans, never won it looserpool

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry Ste, you can't compare the Liverpool side of the 80's to the teams of 2001, 03, 05,06 etc. Even you as a liverpool fan have got to admit that

scott , slough, qpr

Agree0 Disagree0

This ste doesnt remember the 80s,he wasnt around then, liverpool stopped being the best in 1989 , when arsenal did what they did.

Agree0 Disagree0

They won the league in 1990 so how is it they stopped being the best in 89 .

Agree0 Disagree0

Ste don't understand why you are asking about attendances,

Chelsea record home league attendance:
82,905 v Arsenal 1935

Liverpool record home league attendance:
58,707 v Chelsea 1950

Chelsea avarage home attendance 2010-11 for league matches: 41435

Liverpool average home attendance 2010-11 for league matches: 42821

Agree0 Disagree0

Chelsea's home attendances have always matched Liverpools, in fact before ground restrictions Chelsea's were actually higher than Liverpools. The only exception to this being in 80's. Some of that period chelsea were playing in the 2nd division.

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't know why Ste is even brining up attendances, whats that got to do with the football teams. Last season Liverpool where 5th and Chelsea 6th in average home attendances. Both behind Utd, Arsenal, Newcastle & Man City

Agree0 Disagree0

Ste, for your info these are Prem League average attendances from 2001-02 season (which is pre Roman era at Chelsea)
1 - Man Utd 67,586
2 - Newcastle 51,372
3 - Sunderland 47,174
4 - Liverpool 43,388
5 - Leeds 39,751
6 - Chelsea 39,030
7- Arsenal 38,054

So in your view does that make Sunderland a better team than Liverpool

scott, slough, QPR

Liverpool are s***e, queen dogleash is a joke, anfield is a cesspit. All facts.

Loovens is injured again, along with Pat McCourt,Maloney unfortunately has been injued a lot since he returned home to Celtic Park,If they are picking up injuries, does any Celtic fan think they should be released, because they are picking up a good wage, and there are not many games being played by them because of there frequent injuries.

Burnley set to reject Southampton's first bid of £4.25m for star duo Danny Fox and Jay Rodriguez, Saints will come back with £5.75m + Dan Harding - who is currently Saints' first choice left back.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Um no Harding isn't going silly people what you thinking ha ha

Agree0 Disagree0

Danny Fox is the worst left back I have ever saw at Celtic or play for Scotland.Truly awful player who can not defend. And really ordinary in midfield.

Fox is a terrible defender one of the worst players i have ever saw play for celtic

Sneider to Man Citeh will happen before window closes, United been gazumped.

Believable0 Unbelievable3

The noisey neighbours have got one over Fergie....how funny.
If that deal goes through i really can see City winning the league if they can gel quickly

Agree0 Disagree0

Inter have denied any knowledge of it.

Agree0 Disagree0

Man city have denied it too, i think man city fans are getting ahead of themselves here, sneijder is sponsored by nike, nike sponsor man utd, so who do you think will sign him? plus this shows with all the excitement over possibly signing a guy who maybe going to utd,is why city have a problem, too busy trying to get one over their bigger and much more successful neighbours, wow you read you may sign wesley, whooppeeeeeee,he plays less than half the games in a season, cost to much, and would leave city in a heartbeat, just like the rest do,as we all have seen

Liverpool are going to struggle this season, they have deluded fans who think they have a good team, stuck in the 80's if you ask me

Believable1 Unbelievable2

Is 2005 the 80s?

ste liverpool

Agree0 Disagree0

It was a fluke that ste, it WON'T happen again, you are an average team now

Agree0 Disagree0

Average is being kind

Agree0 Disagree0

Lol its happened 5 times , never embarrassed off the park either, god some clubs who aint won it remain tiny

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeh a fluke to come bk from 3 down 5 TIMES,forever in are shadow

ste liverpool

Agree0 Disagree0

No major trophies for liverfool in the forseeable future, they have no world class players, just a mediocre team

Agree0 Disagree0

No world class players, wot was the name of that lad who danced round your defence......suarez

ste liverpool

Agree0 Disagree0

Lol luis suarez

Agree0 Disagree0

To come back from 3-0 down in such a big game is prob the best comeback ever but that season Liverpool finished about 20 pts behind Utd and Chelsea in the league and wern't even the best team on Merseyside let alone Europe

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeh but we won the european cup end of

Agree0 Disagree0

2005 was a fluke, 2 of the goals shouldnt have been allowed, the ref ignored the linesman flag on one,and gerrard dived like tom daley for another, didnt denmark, greece somehow win a major trophy once, every dog has its day,but when it came to trying to repeat it,liverpool failed against milan.oh and before you give it large about we won it 5 times , go look who liverpool had to play to get to those finals and even beat in the finals, and how they did it,liverpool back then were a boring negative team with more back passes to a keeper than you could care to count, but you wouldnt remember that would.

Agree0 Disagree0

Haha a fluke? wow. If it was your club who won it like we did, would you say the same thing? no. Liverpool were known for thier attacking football back then, Kenny is alll about attacking football. You know nothing about football and are making up idiotic comments because your jealous and bitter, just pipe down.

Agree0 Disagree0

At least the other four were won the right way not in a league to make it easier win it over the tie not months

Agree0 Disagree0

Tell that to UEFA then, write a letter of complaint. You can only beat whats in front of you. We did. We won. Get over it.

Agree0 Disagree0

Milan let you win that game in 2005 they were s**t in 2nd half liverpool were not good that night just very lucky, shevchenko missed 3 sitters in 2nd half the bum he is, probably game was fixed by the italians it has been known in that country because how a team can play that bad after being 3 up does not make sense when liverpool like i say were not that good that night fact.

Agree0 Disagree0

Stop making these petty little excuses, filled with ifs and buts and hows. Simple fact is we won it, for the fifth time, boom.

Agree0 Disagree0

Watching the highlights of Liverpools successes is like watchinh 'Life On Mars'.
Its all mullets, flares, sideburns and platforms shoes........been a while hasn't it

Agree0 Disagree0

You've posted that before mate, nicely done. Did they have mullets, flares and sideburns in 2001, 2005 and 2006?

Agree0 Disagree0

So did they wear flares in 2001-fa cup, worthington cup,UEFA cup, super cup 2003-league cup 2005-european cup, super cup 2006-fa cup.....oh forgot that was the 80s,unless your behind with your fashion

ste liverpool

Agree0 Disagree0

That means you must be about 12 years old pal, do you really think flares were from the 80's

Agree0 Disagree0

Loving Ste's last post, apparentlly flares are from the 80's. Anyone from Liverpool can't really question other peoples taste in fashion, they're still walking about in shell suits and Reebok classics up there {Ed025's Note - hey...i resemble that remark!

Agree0 Disagree0

Shame you wern't born in the 80's mate, Liverpool had a decent team back then with Rush, Aldridge, Beardsley etc etc.
Oh and you forgot to mention the 1988 FA Cup final, in case you didn't know Liverpool lost to Wimbledon

Agree0 Disagree0

Yep, lost to Wimbledon, but then 'you' forgot to mention that we won it the season after, yay

Agree0 Disagree0

Im 31 by the way started goin the match in 87.the post said we were suck in the 80s,so im just remindin you what we won recently hense the post

ste liverpool

Agree0 Disagree0

You're the Liverpool fan mate, you forgot to mention both the 1988 and 89 finals

Agree0 Disagree0

I am mate, but I just listed the post 2000 trophies we had won, since one poster believed our success was like watching Life On Mars, so I listed the more recent success' just to prove that he was incorrect. Im kind like that you see. Did you want a whole list of finals Liverpool have participated in? I will warn you, it's a pretty hefty list, as you probably know.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Your right mate, man some teams dont have any ID HATE THAT would hurt, as no matter what they say about ur club they know despite all the money thats recently come into their clubs they cant buy it and remain a small club, plus global fan bases are tiny, tiger woods has bigger clubs

chelsea(no european cups chelsea) are willing to spend 30million on michael owen, aparantly they like paying hefty sums for washed up former liverpool strikers,, plus he fits in age wise as he is over 30,the only stumbling block is owens unwillingness to play for a team who dont have any european cups, hence whny he left newcastle ,

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Anyones better than that bag of sh@@e torres i suppose, stooopid chelsea fools, they bought him to buy the champs lge( 1000 laughs lol lol lol lol lol lol, at least they will win the masters with there old ass team

Agree0 Disagree0

And spending 30m on a striker with a ponytail and knackered knees is good business i suppose, also Aquilani was a decent buy. I remember Liverpool paying big money for the next 'Zidane'......what was his name oh yes Cherou

Agree0 Disagree0

And £50mill for a goal shy striker is good business eh? We paid about £5mill for Cheyrou big man, hardly big money.

Agree0 Disagree0

Cheyrou scored a belter against chelsea lol plus liverpool bought luis suarez , easily guna be the best 4ward in that lge, andy carroll is a beast, just ask man city, he smashed them, my god 50million on torres lol

Agree0 Disagree0

The list is endless of great liverpool signings over the past few years and the funny thing is , whenever they do sign these average donkeys, the fans get all excited ,and praise the second coming , its very funny, but clearly life in liverpool isnt that great and having a team that may do well ,gives them something to be happy about and gives hopes and something to do while waiting to sign on,its so bad so many scousers leave liverpool but always go on about how great liverpool is,well why did you leave i ask? no jobs they say. {Ed022's Note -

Agree0 Disagree0

Haha this is a football site u clown, the biggest region 45 crime now is manchester etc, google it, but hey lets not go there as its a football site

Agree0 Disagree0

I admit luis suarez is a class act and i think he'll have a good season as with Carroll he is effective and gives you something different but i honestly don't think you'll get 20 games out of him, he's too injury prone. I don't think Downing was worth the transfer fee but he's a proven Prem league player, Henderson may be a good player but too early to say was very inconsistant at Sunderland, Charlie Adam is a good player but these arn't players that will win you the league. If i was a Liverpool fan my concern would be with the defence, still need a full back and definately a good centre back.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yet another scouse loser just jealous of the mighty chelsea who have won the prem 3 times hey red scousemem, have you not won it no you hav'nt and never will so many teams much better and bigger than you now face the facts will you for once.

slating the club for not signing anyone and as soon as they do there still not happy, No one said Obertan will be starting every week, its about building a squad something we never had last year, and as we dont have any right sided players he will be a good addition to the squad.

Liverpool fans please do not refer to KD as KK. He is no "King" and remember you had a KK once.

KD (as I will refer to him) is a decent but as yet unproven long term manager. He was the best, yes the best player I have ever seen (in my time) but has a way to go to mirror that in management.

He is moving in the right direction but referring to him as King heaps undue pressure

Believable0 Unbelievable2

We call him the king you person because of who is to the club, not just his playing days.but also when he was the manager, also the way he acted in 89 when we lost 96fans.he has been amazin for liverpool on and off the pitch.so thats why we call him the KING

ste liverpool

Agree0 Disagree0

Fair play to KD he was great for you in 89 in what was a very sad day in your history and for football in general im a chelsea fan sayin this ste, the banter between fans should be non maulicious just a laugh all club have there bad times and get crap about it, may be not man utd at the moment but that could easily change.

Reference the Aquilani debate below: I too am a Liverpool fan and don't really care if he stays or goes - to me he'd be average back up (good but not close to best)

Seems it may be another few folk going by pre-season friendlies. Folk have to understand that pre-season form is not something to judge (all the key players take it very very easy). Pre-season is for fitness

Interested in the team of the fool who is criticising Liverpool's defence and Carroll?

If he is going by friendlies that is very dangerous. As a qualified FA Coach I should advise that pre season friendlies are for fitness predominantly and key players are asked to take it very easy.

Look at the end of last season as a better guide I would say

Liverpool are rubbish

Interested in other posters views on the premiership top 4 for the 2011/12 season. My view (not necessarily, but probably, in order):

Man Utd (and that hurts)
Man City (hurts but not as much)
Liverpool (they will be on the up but not monumental - pleasing)
Chelsea (they will be on the slide but not monumental - pleasing)

Other sliders will be Arsenal and Tottenham (I expect very little from North London)

Just a view - interested in others?

as wolves have left the numbers 2, 15 and 22 shirt numbers blank expect danny fox (burnley) for 2, matt upson (free agent) or Scott dann (link up with johnson again) for 15, thomas hitzlsperger to take 22 as held talks few weeks ago nd very impressed with club

heard it here first

So, you are signing players according to what squad number is available? Stop playing that game, get off it and grow up.

Agree0 Disagree0

Quality of Scott Dann deserves a decent club not Wolves. Upson would be right up their street though

Spotted Joey Barton eating a Curly Wurly and he hasnt tweeted about it yet. Must mean that all is forgiven at St James Park as he was warned not to tweet pointless things again. All hail Pardew and Ashley for their professionalism during this whole fiasco

Cant believe people are still talkin down at stoke...."your not a big club, stop making rumours up, youve no chance of signing these playas" it goes on and on All you Leeds, Sunderland, Wet Sham, Birmingham fans and whoever else joins in need to get a reality check and realise that we are an established premier league club playing in europe Weve as much chance of signin any player who isnt targetted by a top 6-8 club You will all be eating your words when palacios, bendtner, crouch put pen to paper

My only disagreement is that Stoke don't need midfielders so you should not have included Palacios in that. Bring on the high kicking defenders and tall strikers only for the most boring team in the Prem

Ye right mate ye done well with sunderland cast offs and think ye will be mid table again but europa run sometimes takes a lot out of teams thats why i think ye will make 2 or 3 signings
