Huddersfield manager Mark Robins has missed out on his main striker target, James Vaughan. Robins has also been told Paterson is not interested in Signing for Huddersfield. Russell and Stevens of Dundee Utd have not been the subject of a renewed Huddersfield bid since 1. 25 million was turned down. Robins will look to lower leagues to buy strikers and compliment this with a loan signing.

Derby themselves have rubbished reports that they've had a bid for Russell accepted by Dundee Utd. So at the moment, there still is no deal and Derby will only have been allowed to contact Russell with Dundee Utd's permission.

I'm finding this whole Andy Carrol issue quite curious. Apparently he wants a few more days to consider the offer. Meanwhile West Ham have had a 17m Euro bid for Negredo Rejected. So, either Hammers have a lot more money available than we first thought or West Ham are targetting other strikers? for further development but it may be that the Andy Carroll deal isn't as done and dusted as we all first thought.

As much as I love West ham and how well we did last season the vultures are starting to gather over the available strikers and if they don't act they will AS ALWAYS lose out. The problem us we putting all our attentions in the Andy Carroll situation, I think we could do better if we stop haggling with him over his wages. Use the money we were going to pay for him to bring in Jordan Rhodes and Gary Hooper (Approx £15m) and we'd still not exceed £80k a week in combined wages. Romleu lukaku has also said he wouldn't mind going back out on loan
