Charlton Athletic will begin their attempts to unsettle Colchester United captain Magnus Okuonghae tomorrow morning. Charlton previously had an offer, believed to be around £300,000, rejected for the star centre back but sources from within the London based club suggest that they are ready to step up their interest and secure the services of the man who has now become their main transfer target. They believe that Okuonghae will be attracted by the squad that is being put together at the Valley, leaving the Colchester board with no choice but to sell should an acceptable bid be tabled by Charlton.

If you're a real supporter of Arsenal or any club, ?Ç for that matter, then you'll support them whatever?Ç happens. I would rather have a team, where all the?Ç players are committed to the shirt, the club and the?Ç fans even if they are not as good as previous Arsenal?Ç teams. I have supported Arsenal for over 40 years so I?Ç have seen them go through the good times and the bad.?Ç Look back through history and you'll see that?Ç Arsenal have gone much longer without winning a trophy?Ç than the current 6 years. For example, after the double?Ç of 1971 the next trophy was the F.A. Cup in 1979 and?Ç then after that the Littlewoods Cup of 1987. 2 eight?Ç year droughts so it's nothing new. As long as all?Ç eleven on the pitch are committed to Arsenal and give?Ç 100% then I will always support them however bad things?Ç get

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I hate Kilmarnock and Celtic. But I would love to see McCourt play every week.He is a great winger to watch. When he is on top of his game.Skinning men setting up chances and scoring special goals. His fitness has let him down.If he was more athletic. He would be a EPL player. He has the skill, just not the mentality.Be good for Kilmarnock though if it happens.Rangers are my team. But I like Ayr United to.And they are Kilmarnock, s rivals.

Reading look like they could be about to rip-off Stoke once again by selling the Matt Mills for at least £4m. While this isn't quite as big a rip-off as the Kitson and Sonko deals it's almost there.

Reading are looking at signing Ben Mee from Manchester City as Milss' replacement.

Kitson and Sonko were good players Pulis just isn't a good enough manager to get the best out of them. Coppell on the other hand is a managerial genius.

Norwich, West Ham, Southampton and Swansea are all interested in the 23 year old, expect him to be gone by the end of next week. Oldham have signed Jean Yves M'Voto on a 2 year contract, not Huddersfield.
But I cannot believe Oldham manager had the guts to say he was the best central defender in the division last season when the team finished 17th. Haha, there's better defenders than him. I think Oldham manager needs a pair of glasses so he can see where his team finish

Hoskins was one of the best strikers in league one and look where his team finished. And M'voto basically domianted most strikers that played against him. One player doesn't make a team.

Well said. I would rather have Mvoto than not, he would have walked into Huddersfields team - no problem. Feel there might be a bit of jealousy about me thinks.

Actually abramorich tried to buy spurs first but the stadium with the lack of planning rights put him off, chelsea was the cheaper option.
He went for spurs first cos quite simply spurs are bigger than chelsea, fact.
Chelsea pride of london? Dont make me laugh. Wtf have chelsea ever done apart from the good ole days down the kings road, gay pride and all that and you still never won anything.
Btw chelsea only got in the cl before ambramovich cos (like i said before) you brought players you couldnt afford and thats why abramovich had to bail you out. Otherwise you would of had jody morris, jon harley, frank sinclair as your level. Now do you understand.
Same for city, shaun goater, paul dickov, thats your real level, feeding the goat as you weirdos say.

The new consortium planning to take over Stockport County will try to tempt Jim Gannon back as their first priority. With just over 5 weeks left before the BSP 2011/12 season kicks off they want to move swiftly for the former Hatters boss who has since had spells in Scotland and most recently Port Vale.

They are hoping that Gannon together alongside with his previous assistant Peter Ward & Development manager Alan Lord can tempt players in quickly in a bid to bounce straight back into the Football League

To all the fools who seem intent on believing stoke are struggling financially there are many reasons why you are wrong including the facts that:

Peter Coates' personal wealth has greatly increased due to the fact his family owns one bet365. By around two hundred million this financial year.

Pulls has a financial war chest for this window of around thirty million does that sound cash strapped?

This kenwyne jones business is not correct. The deal stoke have with Sunderland is that for a period of years sunderland pay fifteen per cent of his wages. Thats how desperate they were to offload him. Stoke have a wage cap which they will not break so some players unless willing to take a wage cut in the first place will not come to stoke.

The bids for Cameron Jerome and Scott Dann show that there is no lack of funds. In fact yet again this window Stoke could be on of the busiest teams in the window with many transfer targets in the pipeline in order to prepare for a busy season with European football.

Hopefully this settles it.

he was injured for half the season and that was when oldham had the terrible run of form, before he got injured oldham were in the play offs and when he came back he ended there run of poor form. shows what an important player he is and that he is one of the best defenders in the league and thats why huddlesfield wanted him - from a huddlesfield fan

"It is not beyond the realms of possibilities that Omah Daley will be back at Bradford City before the season starts"

I would love to know where you heard this because I work with the late Dean Richards' cousin and he's father drinks with Omar.
Omar was told before the end of last season that he would not qualify for a WP under the new rules and
unless his personal circumstances changed then he
would be looking elsewhere outside England, also even if he could have stayed then PJ doesn't rate him enough to have wanted him at the club next season.

I aint bitter at all. I support tottenham cos i was born there. Yes i would love tottenham to win the league or champions league but tbh i want to see good entertaining football primarily. Spurs have underacheived for many years but we have always been quite a big club. Up until premiership times spurs were perceived as one of the top 4 but bad ownership and management saw us fall behind. Chelsea and man city were never seen as big as spurs, chelsea only when vialli managed and man city since the sheik tookover.
For chelsea fans to come on here and mock eg liverpool fans is a joke. Torres made a bad decision (football wise) joining chelsea. Come on think about it, liverpool is 100times bigger than chelsea and you come on here gloating like fat russians when the reality is that your club ruined football. When was the last time chelsea made a profit? All you are is a financial marketing machine.
I guarantee you spurs would of got cl had it not been for our pathetic strikers and im angry we never brought in the last windows.
I will never take chelsea or man city seriously, yes xwou will be near the top but where is the satisfaction from for you? It aint right and i hope platini bends you both over and gives you a french ****.

Tottenham are one of the best run clubs around, we regularly make a profit and have no debt. That tells you that we are selfmade, all our transfers have been supplemented by player sales. Joe lewis is rich but he hasnt gone on a spending spree like chelsea and city.

Chelsea fans, jody morris, jon harley to name a few are the level of chelsea. You come on here giving it the lemon how your going to sign neymar, modric et al. Your nothing, just a small club who were a week away from bankruptcy due to your desperation to be big by buying players you couldnt afford and then the russian oaf saved you. The same goes to man city aswell, if not more so. Both pathetically small clubs who got rich and are completely ruining football.
The new financial rules will f@ck you both up.

You are a jealous stupid spuds fan, chelsea are much bigger club than you will ever be, and city are as well, champions league spuds are you in it, no your not.

Agree4 Disagree3

What a nice man lol

Agree0 Disagree3

So true, and that's why everyone hates these two clubs, they have destroyed football, everyday players and their agents are chasing more cash cos of the over inflated market that was created by city and chelsea, 2 small clubs with rich owners, both with massive debt each year , spending more money than they earn, fake, false positions. Unable to achieve any success without the sugar daddy , time to end it before it ruins the game we all love.

Agree2 Disagree3

That main post is a joke. Yes he sounds a real charmer.....NOT.

Agree3 Disagree1

Would chelsea be in the champions league without the Russian? I think the answer is no, that just proves without Roman chelsea are small time. It's a false position you are in and uefa knows it and are gonna stop it.

Agree3 Disagree3

So if you spend more money than other clubs, then your pathetic.
Over the least 3 years, who has spent the second highest amounts on players, thats right spuds.
So your own club is pathetic.
Grow up you numpty & keep your knickers on.

Agree3 Disagree3

Man united, Liverpool and arsenal spend the money that they generate and are entitled to spend big money on players as they have a global fan base unlike Chelski and Citeh who are on a get rich quick schemes and try and buy all of the trophys on offer Doesnt work like that sorry wait till they are bored of there toys and the end will be in sight Small clubs with a small mentalility And im a forest fan 2 European cups without having to buy them How many you got Citeh and Chelski and look at all the money you have spent

Agree1 Disagree0

City and chelsea are not self funding clubs, they spend their sugar daddys money, make a loss every year , I wonder if city or chelsea would be successful with the Russian and Arab money, and as for chelsea being in the champs league before roman, yes they was but it nearly bankrupted the club borrowing the money to buy the players to get them their.

Agree0 Disagree0

Redknapp will hopefully relegate you next season, your level is the champioship spuds

we did actually have a bid for peace accepted its just that they realised last minute that he had a 50% sell on clause to pompey and when we did up our offer he decided to go with pompet which is fair enough

The statement about Craig Mackail-Smith being a very good player and securing our status in premier league for the next season is surely a joke put there by Barry Fry no doubt or some deluded peterborough fan who actually believes all the hype surrounding this guy because we tried to buy him last transfer window to help us secure premier league, and try to inflate his value even higher.
Frankly if he is so good why arn't other premier league clubs in for him, simple answer, he has a lot to prove at any level higher than div 1, and if its true Swen is willing to pay £3 mil for him, then I think Barry fry's BS has worked, because he is not worth that kind of money, between him and Ken Bates and their ridiculous statements, IE Snodgrass will not leave for less then £8mil (PS - he will still be at leeds next year if that is really true)

CMS is quick, and has an eye for goal, but his ball control, 1st touch is no where good enough for premier league at least based on watching his performances in detail since NCFC when in for him.

Being a Norwich supporter I am pleased we did not go back in for him, after they upped the ante, I suspect if he does go to leicester, that he will not be the greatest signing Sven has ever made, Sven spent big last year and seems to think that big price players on loan make a team sucessful, Paul Lambert instead understands that commitment, energy and organization can work wonders with young hungry players.

Believable0 Unbelievable2

Oh , look. You didnt sign him for crying out loud. You are crazy people in East Anglia. A bunch of kids, please, knock it off on this subject. SPANNER.

Agree1 Disagree0

Get over yourself webby. obviosly we put a high price tag on a player we dont want to leave and if someone offers that then we get double price of wat hes worth. and i do think u have a great young manager but the signings he is making are looking a bit dodge for the prem, best of luck to u though

Agree0 Disagree0

Sven didn't sign big do your homework six of the players he bought in were on loans

Agree0 Disagree0

Apart from the fact that Wigan, QPR and Everton are reported in the papers to be interested in CMS.

And Sven has signed Peltier, Danns and Kasper. All players are not big transfer players, aka The Yak. Neil Danns was wanted by Rangers and Celtic and was highly regarded by Crystal Palace. Peltier was wanted by a host of CC Clubs and Kasper is a cracking keeper who knows the league well. I think if anything the transfers this season have shown that Sven has learnt what type of players he needs to get out of this league, and therefore his decision to go for CMS is based on the same idea. Whether you tried to sign him/want to sign him is irrelevant because he wont be a Canary. So good luck to you and good luck to CMS wherever he ends up

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah, CMS doesnt want to go to a tin pot , two bob, plastic outfit like Naarwich. He would have only been in the prem for one season anyway.

Source : Daily Echo - Jack Cork. Bid accepted by Chelsea. But same with Blackpool. I reckon he will sign because he will be able to get into the first team. He will not go to Burnley I believe as he has seen what happened to Charlie Austin after he joined the club in January. Cork will probably sign due to having a loan spell at Southampton in the 2008-2009 season I think and also having meet Nigel Adkins at a different Club.

After what happened to Charlie Austin in Janurary? what that he dislocated his shoulder after starting 3 games in a row after he signed? ... do you research

And he will sign because of a brief loan spell, he was at Burnley on loan for 18 months and started over 60 games, and met nigel adkins? he's met Howe. Your points are irrelevant and the only thing that matters is that Jack himself said he will only leave Burnley for a premier ship side .. Believe me Burnley are well ahead in this deal, and howe came out a few days ago and said he is confident of the deal

Yes that is true, he has signed for Oldham not Huddersfield , well oldham wanted to sign him coz they go for players like that that are tall and strong coz oldham don't play football, they play boxing instead of tackling, they hit them and elbow them, like you did in both matches against Huddersfield.

Better home record then Brighton lol? I don't think so. I think Southampton are dreaming to much. The only possible player they could sign here is Maynard and Cork.

--------------------

Brighton did have a better home record, but over the course of the season away points were exactly the same (Saints 1 more win, Brighton 3 more draws) and the only difference was 1 extra win for Brighton at home and 1 extra loss for Saints at home. In the process Saints scored more, and conceded less than Brighton, so League 1 was much closer than BHA fans would like you to think.

I have a felling that fergie will sign nasri unless he signs a new contract , if he does then exect a young reasonibly good cheap player with potential i would like to see ganso but he looks ac milan bound nani will be fighting for his place and i beleave that during the course of the season he will replace valencia but i do think young will be a bit like berbatov - only shows true class once in a while butprove me wrong . Anderson and cleverly could also breakthrough the team and giggs will always be there to put in a good shift an so will pawhich will see them get a good bit of 1st team action too

ATT

Rooney Hernadez

1 of the best strike partnerships around Hernadez still has too learn though how the english game is played though I feel but no doubt about it that he has some class in him while rooney is rooney .
Berbatov or Owen hmmm 1 of them or if not both should leave they can pop in a goal here or there but not consitant enough physicaly for Owen and Berbatov puts in good performances here and there but hes lazy and his style of play doesnt suit the team I think so i think its time to move on but dont gte me wrong he did score 20 goals last season but the whole team has to be playing good for him to play well . Welbeck should go out on loan till janurary as there is still a bit for him to learn eg missed some sitters at the u21 european championship but he did score englands only 2 goals .diouf should be sold he didnt make much if the headlines on loan at blackburn do u really think he can at manchester ?
I wish ferguson would go and get neymar or hazard as i think they will be huge in 3 or 4 years from now .
Macheda will stay i think or go out on loan again but this time in england .

United should also give pogba tunnicliffe morrison nd some of the other reserves a go in the team because
they seem to be the future of this club .

Reading set to sign Westmeath starlet John Heslin. He rejected a youth contract from Derby County 3 years ago.
Not much talk of Gareth Bale yet Ed? {Ed003's Note -Never heard of him sorry,but this Heslin chap seems a great prospect}
