the person who said the standard of scottish football is rubbish needs to stick to cricket;any team in the spl would take huddersfield to the cleaners.

Believable6 Unbelievable4

Not while we got a certian MR RHODES. ha ha

Agree1 Disagree6

You see , we talk football , you talk about cleaning! spl is h***ing rubbish , its like watching paint dry!

maximus

Agree1 Disagree6

Maximus never talks football. He just abuses people, who know more about it than him.And it hurts him guys like Eion Doyle, would rather play for Hibs than Blackpool. The most anti Scottish guy around, watching,Ferguson,Crainey,,Gilkes,Husband,Harris. And he knows that Gritthis will stay at Hibs to.If they can come up for the cash for him.So that will be another one that his club will miss out on again.Just like they mist out on him before.Edinburgh or Blackpool is hardly a hard choise to make. Also Rhodes would need service to beat the SPL teams. And Artfield was not good enough for Falkirk. If he was he would have been snapped up bye a SPL side.Would they control the midfield?Doubt it there is better midfielders than him at our clubs.Even at Inverness who have Andrew Shinnie.St Mirren have Kenny McLean, who is as good as anything at Rangers or Celtic.St Johnston have Davidson running the show.Hibs and Aberdeen have the Osbournes.Ally

Agree10 Disagree0

You never really talk football , just bulls**t and tell massive lies , yes we have 3/4 scottish lads , who i have had a drink with, but they dont talk the talk ,they walk the walk , played in s**t league called scotland and always end up in nice lovely england , remember falkirk ? i do? remember stirling ? jordan r , wont go to scotland , bandits up there!
edinburgh ? isnt there two teams there?

listen sweaty one team in blackpool and still get bigger gates than any other team in scotland apart from celtic and rangers , check the papers and web sites, ally the not so smart cat !

maximus

Agree1 Disagree9

SPL is the most supported league per square mile in Europe.I really dont care how many fans Blackpool get.It gets fans cos there has always been work in the town.At least Edinburgh has a derby in there City. What has Blackpool got there?Five a side kick about with the circis people? And I doubt you have done, you would not get into VIP in any club.As there is nothing important about you.And there never will be ever.Blackpool are awful most teams can mount a promotion challenge, when they go down.So dont make out your big shots.Your team is terrible right now.I would have money on 11 out of the 12 SPL teams beating you.Ally

Agree10 Disagree1

One ,stop ticking your own agree boxes!
two ,as you keep bringing friendlies up didnt we beat hibs this year???
oh yes we did!
11/12 would that team we beat ,happen to be celtic!
best and most watch league in the world is the english prem , fact !
worst and least watch league is luxemboug then scotland fact!
bitter jealous sweaty sock man! fact.

maximus

Agree1 Disagree7

Well one of your own Neil Doncaster say other wise. And he is involved a lot more in the game than you are.So its not fact at all.Its just you getting up set.As you cant compete with a team like Hibs for players. And Rangers beat you playing the full second half with there kids. How about doing a British cup again? And we will see what happens when it matters.Anybody else up for that idea?Like the Texico cup in the 70ties?It would be a good money spinner,if the TV companies got involved with it.Ally

Agree6 Disagree0

Keep dreaming about celtic and rangers in the big mans league .
keep tripping over yourself , and dont forget your u21 won a match!
i think you should join the welsh league," anyone else up for that?

maximus

Agree1 Disagree4

I would love it as celtic and rangers would go out in first round as would all the other dross from scotland. Friendlies mean fook all but in a serious competition championship sides would wipe the floor with any team in spl, thats if they could be bothered of course, bigger fish to fry

Agree1 Disagree4

Another no name poster, giving no substance to back up there idiotic claim.Championship sides are even trolling N Ireland for players. So how can that be a great league? And players like Coates,Owens,Dallas. Are not signing for teams like Blackpool,Doncaster,Leeds.Face it there is plenty of awful championship sides. The only ones that seem to do OK.Are the ones that have been spending money,on large wages for qaulity bosmans.Or actually putting there hands in there pockets on transfer fees.Ally

Agree4 Disagree1

Maximus perhaps Blackpool will be back in the big mans league again for 1 season before you enter your old folks home ! Celtic would survive very well in the premiership , we have an up and coming YOUNG team who did as well as Spurs and Fulham in the Europa League in a harder group , while Blackpool were playing Doncaster , Peterbrough and Brighton ... so stop making a tit of yourself please .

Agree3 Disagree1

Celtic wouldnt even do well in league two! whats it like to play each other 50 times in one season??
what a joke of a league!

maximus

Agree1 Disagree3

Celtic and rangers with the same portion of finances would stroll the championship, rangers beat blackpool 2-0 in the summer, they both have 60k andd 50k each home game repsectively, maximus you know nothing about football!
willybhoy

Agree1 Disagree0

Yep your right m8 , i know nothing!
scottish football ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ahaha ha aha aha ahha ha ha!

Every arsenal fan knows what we need...a new ******* backbone, CB, CM, ST, I'm obviously talking about another ST not a replacement for the best striker in the world at he moment.
I reckon vermaelen and mertesacker will do for now but mertesecker's clumsy, ideally I'd like to see mats hummels from dortmund or if we where willing to spend big giorgio chiellini ? big ask I know, but we've been sniffing round sakho for years even badstuber I heard, I would'nt recommend otamendi after what we have seen from chelsea's david luiz.
Now midfield we have a perfect DM in song which I why I'm not sure whether we we'd get the best out of yann m'vila, we should start ramsey every game, let him grow like we did with fabregas & wilshere, the signing of arteta was a joke he's nearly 30 for **** sake, diaby's a sick note and in my opinion, does'nt have the ability, what about little thiago from barca, we missed an unbelieveable opportunity in watching pastore go to PSG, my shortlist would be sergio canales on loan from madrid why not get rid of arshavin and get mauro zarate or douglas costa or even paulo henrique, when in doubt GO BRAZILIAN, because I guarantee we will not sign gotze, that guys worth 40 mil, we've never spent more than 20, embarrassin.
ST simple, we spend to get neymar or we look to our youth which in our case has always worked, don't buy stars, make them, wellington silva's one of the hottest prospects in europe, and then carlos vela, who's been sublime in every league cup I've seen him should be recalled and do what we did with that embarrassment bendtner, PLAY HIM, if not, I actually like the sound of podolski, the bottom line is we need a new eduardo, slick, composed finisher, huntelaar, paloschi, benzema/higuain, neymar.

Believable1 Unbelievable4

Henry will solve all your problems!

why is anyone assuming that Boro will sell Bates when they're trying to make a promotion this year? Redmond for 2.5, but i havent heard much about Jutkiewicz (think he's more then likely Southamptons anyways)

Believable3 Unbelievable0

29 Dec 2011 17:46:26
Ed why do all Bristol city fans think they gonna get 4-5mill for Maynard surly they not got much choice as he can go for nothing at end of season value can't be much more than 1 million with so little left on contract? {Ed001's Note - because they have seen Nasri go for 20m+ with just a year left. It could happen, but I doubt any team will be willing to pay that who wants him. They want him as a cheap gamble.}

Please can we not start this J-Rod to Saints crap again,it was boring enough last time, the lad is Staying at Burnley unless a SILLY offer comes in from an established premier league side.

Believable3 Unbelievable1

Or maybe we can accept that J Rod is actually hugely overrated anyway and half the teams supposedly interested, actually arent.

Bristol City manager Derek McInnes is set to sell and loan out a number of players. The former St Johnstone manager is keen on loaning a few youngsters out as well as selling a few first team players to raise funds for his first transfer window.
Jamie McAllister is set to leave Ashton Gate after an undisclosed fee was accepted by McInnes. McAllister has been a first team player in recent seasons but is in talks with his manager's former club in St Johnstone.
Experienced defender Louis Carey, who is in his 16th season at Bristol City, is in talks with Portsmouth. Club captain Carey, is keen to stay at Ashton Gate but is set to speak to the South Coast side after McInnes told him that players would need to be sold to rasie funds.
Yeovil Town have made a loan bid to sign Ryan Taylor. Taylor only just signed in the summer from Rotherham. Taylor has recently bought a flat in the area and is not keen on moving away so a loan move to the League 1 side seems benficial. Taylor is expected to sign until the end of the season but no view to a permanent deal is expected.
18 year old midfielder Bobby Reid, currently on loan at League 2 side Cheltenham, is expected to be loaned out to Burton Albion once his spell at Whaddon Road finishes.
AFC Wimbledon have made a loan bid to sign striker David Clarkson on loan until the end of the season.
Christian Ribeiro has handed in a transfer request after being told by McInnes that he will be sold once the window opens and his loan spell at Carlisle finishes. Championship rivals Leeds United, seem to be keen on securing the 22 year old Welshman.
Carlisle may be losing Ribeiro but will look to sign goalkeeper Dean Gerken. The second choice stopper is keen on leaving Ashton Gate to get more football and will sign for United until the end of the season, with a view to a permanent deal.
Bristol Rovers have made a loan bid for young striker Marlon Jackson, once his loan spell at Cheltenham.
A number of Championship sides have made bids for Nicky Hunt but the former Englanbd under 21 defender looks to sign for Scottish side St Johnstone. Hunt is close friends with manager Steve Lomas and is keen on a new challenge in a different country.
Another young midfielder set to leave Ashton Gate is Aaron Amadi-Holloway, after his loan at Bath has expired, in order to join Yeovil.
Another Bath City player on loan from City is Joe Bryan. His contract will be terminated in January, in order for him to also join Yeovil.
Tranmere Rovers have made a undisclosed bid to take Lee Johnson from City.
Premier League side Sunderland, have made a surprising undisclosed bid for Jamaican defender Damion Stewart.

Not a rumour, but of note to football fans:

BBC are axing The Football League Show.

Believable5 Unbelievable2

Absolute joke, bbc are terrible....

Agree4 Disagree3

About time too, if it had been regional it would have been worth keeping, Im sure there are former players still living in the local area that could do a better job than the clowns on there now, Still we can't all be in the Premier league.

Agree3 Disagree2

The Scottish first division has not been on since the 90ties.And you dont hear us complaining.English folk should be happy that they had there show on so much.Getting my violin out,to play sad songs for you on it now.Ally

Agree7 Disagree2

The reason it is gettin axed is because the bbc no longer have rights to show football lleague games come the end of this present season, and the bbc are cutting their sporting allowance by 15%, as of yet no free to air channel has taken up the rights as yet!!

tommo

Agree1 Disagree1

Listen tin cat back ally , when did they ever have a first division scoottis**t match on the tv? getting my bagpipes out for you lot! to play a laughing my tits of song!

maximus

Agree1 Disagree7

You used to get first division games on BBC Alba a few season ago.At the time not everybody could get it.As it was not on the free box.Holloway probably watched Bob Harris play for QOS on it.Another ex QOS south player,Steven Dobbie.Ws in the team that took you up,scored to did,nt he?So stop slagging off that level.Ayr United are in the league cup semi, playing local rivals Kilmarnock. After knocking St Mirren,Inverness,Hearts out.Proof that we should make the SPL bigger.Plenty of ex first division guys are in the championship and doing well.Forsyth at Watford,Cowie at Cardiff.Conway to came through at Ayr.Snodgrass,Haliday,McPake all played there with Livingston. And there is loads more that could easily cut that level to.Guys that could walk right into your team.Who are even better than most of the players that I mentioned.Your not worthy of telling though. As your so full of hatred.Ally

Agree10 Disagree1

Scotland ? if say they are that good , as you say they are , how come your league and national team are worst than the luxemboug league and national team?

maximus

Agree1 Disagree8

Scotland went up to 47th in the world. We are improving all the time right now.And bitter anti Scottish fools such as you cant stomoch it.The only way is up for the national team.We have plenty of talent coming through,at all off our clubs.Who are young and playing every week. The future is bright for us.As the under 21 team proved, bye taking 3 points in Holland.Against the team that won 3 out of 4 of the last Euroes at that level. And we mist plenty of guys that might have started, ADAM, HANLEY, SAUNDERS, NESS, FYFIE, McLEAN, FLECK, ARMSTRONG.So we are even starting to produce stregth in depth, even at that level.I am not saying that we will reach the next world cup.As the group we have is really strong. All that I am saying is,the group will be tight. All the teams are good enough,to take points of each other.Who ever qualifies will be the one that can be consistant. And just out of interest,Scotland has more EPL players than any off them in group A.Says a lot about the EPL.If anybody is saying that the Scottish national team is bad.It says that the EPL is bad,bye definition.Or else they would not be playing in it.Ally

Agree9 Disagree1

How times you bringing one under21 match up?
is that all you have ?
everyone knows your s**t!

maximus

Agree2 Disagree7

Everybody does not know that. Our stands are full off scouts from all over Europe, watching games in the SPL.And English scouts even come up for first division games.Norwich and Swnsea have joined the chase for Craig Sibbald of Falkirk.Along with ARSENAL, SPURS, MAN CITY, LIVERPOOL, EVERTON, WIGAN, ASTON VILLA.The under 21 result, sent shock waves around the world. And now without question, they know Scotland are producing better players again. If England had won there, you lot would be shouting about the next generation coming through.Like you had been last year. And went quite when they never won a single game at the finals. After facing one of the weakest teams in the play offs.Scotland were level on points at the top off there table,to end up in there play off with Iceland.Who played seven full international players,in the game that they narrowly won.Still we never mugged our self off, like you did.Going there and doing nothing, but provide us comedy gold.Ally

maximus

Agree1 Disagree3

Well I suggest you read above. If you think English peaple are beyond being anti Scottish.Great nation you are, with all your names for non English people.Scotland will always be your main rivals.I think its really funny, that a lot of you.Have some crazy idea, that the Germans are your rivals.Just cos you played them on the world stage a few times. The Dutch are there real rivals. And just about any other nation they occupied in WW2.Imagine how stupid us Scots would look.If we tried to tell the world, that Brazil was our biggest rivals?Just cos we have played them more than England in the world stage? We would be laughed at,and rightly so.Just like I laugh at the England V Germany rivalry.I like how the French, have won more than England to.Ally

Southampton fans make me laugh, u keep going on about who u will buy for prem nx season. Wake up you are only half way though season, lets see how u cope in march when preasure starts to get to every team. I watched portsmouth game u looked very av that day. Andrew surman laughed said no chance when asked by local reporter if he would move back to saints. Jenkins is leaving watford for norwich this will happen.

Believable1 Unbelievable7

Norwich fans make me laugh. All of a sudden they keep going on about signing Saints best players as if their the only club in the country with any ambition. Ex-Saint Gareth Bale tore 'em apart on his own the other night. Surman is history, lower Prem quality at best and i'm laughing that we would really want him back. Lallana, Cork and Schneiderlin have loads more potential.

Well done wolves, Norwich have 27.000 seats 22.000 S/T and are getting 26.800 every home match if we didn't need segregation it would be 27.000 every home match with or without the tele

Believable1 Unbelievable3

27000 wow that's why your a small club

Give it time we will expand the seating its all in hand don't worry your little head over that, we do things our way and have little or no debt right now.watch this space

Agree0 Disagree1

Well done Norwich Wolves were getting 28,000 + the first season but with the credit crunch and relegation fight every year we have lost 3,000 supporters somewhere, I don?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢t think i can stomach another relegation season so i wont renew next season even if we stay up. I want us to improve on the pitch not see a shiny new stadium. If this makes me a bad supporter then so be it, its my money. We should create a demand then expand, Oh well rant over happy new year

Now being a fairly established club in the championship, and after the re-generation project around the den being approved for planning permission, millwall chairman John Berylson has decided to put his money where his mouth is, in order to push towards the premiership in the coming years, expect big movement in the transfer market in January, and millwall's record spending fee smashed, Jason Puncheon, Andros Townsend and Simeon Jackson all possible recruits.

Personally I'd love to see Norwich Sign Jordan Rhodes he's a quality player that would give so much more competition for places and hes just the sort of player that Lambert would sign as he's an unproven player at premier league level so hopefully delia gets her wallet out and pays the 4m which should be enough to get him !

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Seen a post elswhere the deal is done with C MARTIN going to them on loan till next season ends

Agree0 Disagree1

Hudderfield's chairman has issued a hands off warning to West Ham pointing out their own bid for promotion. Think you will have to offer a lot more than £4M to break their resolve.

Agree0 Disagree0

Leeds have a 3.2 million deal knocked back for Rhodes.According to talk sport radio.Looks lke he is holding out for a EPL club, and Huddersfield are waiting for what he is actually worth.Ally

Agree1 Disagree1

Huddersfield are holding out for promotion this season and Rhodes is vital for that to happen so all these clubs that want him will have to wait and see what happens this season and try again in the summer.

Aston Villa appear to be focussed more strongly on securing loan deals rather than signings, particularly to strengthen creative options in their midfield. Two names that have most evidence attached to them are Darren Gibson and Josh Mceachran. Mceachran looks less likely with his direction more likely being that of Bolton what with Cahill looking likely to move to Chelsea very soon.
A link that I've received most murmurings about regard Craig Gardener and a return to Villa Park. The catch with this deal is that O'Neill would want Agbonlahor to be at Sunderland by the beginning of next season.
