why would henry leave millwall for small clubs like ipswich who we finished above last year and who would want to move to burnley, when he can live in london a much nicer place in the world."
I would have to say that Ipswich are at least on a par in terms of size with Milwall, certainly not a smaller club. Therefore he may be interested in a move to Ipswich as he could still live in London if he wanted to. League position isn't everything (as every Leeds fan seems to go on about). If Swansea finish above Man City would you say Swansea were the bigger club?

After being fined 2 weeks wages for being over weight in pre season, Wilson Palacios has demanded a transfer from Tottenham Hotspurs.
No need to demand one, if they get the right money for him. He will be gone.

Lee Hughes is turning down Chesterfield as he cant be promised first team football
Non League Mansfield Town might come in for a shock bid for him, as Hughes is desperate to get away from the sinking ship of County

Anton Ferdinand is set to sign for QPR after the influx of defenders at Sunderland, a fee of 3m is being negotiated
I would say more 4m for him
27 Jul 2011 22:15:20
I'm told that Millwall value Henry higher than Morison. Consequently a bid of £1.1m is viewed in the same light as Del Boy viewed Rodney's purchase of broken lawn mower parts.

I don't like the Leicester fans giving it large on here. But they sort of have reason to be optimistic about winning the league.
What really gets me going is the Bristol City fans who are getting all outspoken because they have 1 good Championship player. You can't hold teams to ransom over someone like Nicky Maynard, I'm seeing figures from 5-10m. My my, Javier Hernandez was bought for something like 6m.
If thats the basis we are going on, I'd expect Maynard on a free Thought's, Ed?
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Hi a Bristol City fan here. I think we need to get some things straight about the NM situ. At the moment he is OUR player It's up to the board if they choose to sell him. How are WE holding clubs to ransom? We have said we dont want to sell him to another CC club. Leicester are the one coming in with bids and thats up to them where not forcing them are we?
I have no doubt NM will be gone before the season starts but the board has said we will not sale to another CC club they will not back down unless they get an amazing offer He will go to a WBA or Fulham type Prem club in the end.
I dont want him to go of course I hope he stays I really do. But he is a very good forward the best I've seen down the gate since Andy Cole showing my age here a little I know
No one is forcing Southampton hang on they have not put a bid in for him I dont think or Leicester to put bids in. Why are you moaning when we say no? Its like you wanting to buy my car for £4000. I know its a good price but I like the car so I'm gonna keep it for a while longer. Then you moan like hell I dont sell it to you ITS MY CAR I WILL DO WHAT I WANT BUD YOU HAVE NO SAY {Ed003's Note - What sort of car is it? I might be in the market}
Its a limited edition David Bentley. You still interested? {Ed001's Note - far too expensive for me to run, I am sure Ed002 would love it though.}
27 Jul 2011 21:44:44
im a life long bcfc fan and all this fuss about nm is doin my nut let him go if he wants to. the other forwards will step up to the plate/ brett scored what 13 in his first season just get over it and move on. were a mid table team at best. tbh the lcfc fans are doin my nut too just chill out. cant we all get along hahah

MARTIN MADDOG ALLEN is worried nobody wants to sign for Notts County as all his targets have turned them down.
Past history of signing players they can afford and getting promotion from league 2 by improper means is causing them problems still.
Jack lester latest player to turn down County even after offering him 5k per week

berbi to see out his contract at old trafford not to fight for his place but to teach fergie a lesson leave on a free next summer and get a large final contract somewhere like malaga or psg.
also nasri cant decide between glory or money and fegie ready to ditch bid in favour of Diarra for £10 mil the thinking behind Diarra is he would be better mentor for cleverly.

Scouts on the hunt for a cheap deal at SPL club Motherwell were in for a treat as most scouts attended to watch young Moptherwell striker Murphy but went away impressed with Humphrey and Law.
Alerts have been sent down south and a suprise bid for Law and Humphrey is only around the corner.
Murphy bid put on hold.
When you say south does that mean queen of the south watching them?
who are moptherwell? are you a cleaner ?

FACT; micheal johnson has gont to leicester well done LEEDS last AGAIN
we are usless
Agreed.
Don't be too hard on yourselves fellas, Forest are worse. They've predicted signings every day for the last 4 weeks and have missed 99% of those that they claimed they were signing 'tomorrow'
At this moment in time we ( leeds) can't compete with leicester city for wages or prices paid for players, no club in the championship and a lot of clubs in the prem can't compete with them either. at leeds we have a strict wage strucure, leicester are in a position to afford any players that become available, i think they will win the championship this season, but we will be up in around the playoff positions again. garyd MOT
I thought Leeds were ment to be a big club . KEN BATES LEEDS LEGEND
27 Jul 2011 20:34:26

Sheffield Wednesday are going to struggle this season due to the tactics (or lack of them) played by Megson.
27 Jul 2011 20:10:11
Man city owners have bought Aguero, next signing will be the premiership title, buying success in this way will always be remembered for that reason , you only won cos you had very rich owners.
What is absolutely stunning is City's incompetence in the transfer market in wasting so much money Robinho-30mn, Adebayor25mn, Jo 18mn, Bellamy 17mn, Santa Cruz 17mn, Bridge 8?mn, Wright Phillips 12?mn, Given, Boateng, etc etc Presumably this list will soon include Milner 24mn, Lescott 22mn, maybe Djeko27mn, Kolo Toure 24mn....
Yes that's a lot of money staying in football not paying off some fat Americans debt

southampton have further re-enforced the club structure by signing wet flannel person as part of the back room staff, and specifically in charge of the shower facility. This closley follows the appointment of LiLo Lil as player satisfaction officer without port folio, and Edith from shirley in charge of the tea trolley and Penguin biscuit allocation. A comment from the club read " this is a message to the rest of the league to show our strength in depth will make us serious contenders religation."
How is this funny?
I wonder if the person who wrote this was the same person I saw whilst in Portsmouth ballroom dancing at a bus stop and singing to the passing traffic. nuts.

MK Dons manager Karl Robinson confirms interest in 2-3 more signings before season kick off.Targeting a first choice right back, centre back cover and a forward. Premiership loans for defenders and bid for Izale McLeod awaiting chairman's sanction. Real push for auto promotion this season.

How can anyone predict Barnsley to go down, its as good as a full new squad, a new manager and a totally new enviromanet, i dont think they will be hitting high heights but watching the preseason games its some of the best football ive seen in the championship in years Good luck Tykes, no way they are going down though.
I agree totally, I think anyone tipping Barnsley for relegation this season is way off the mark.
You can't read too much into pre seson I know but the manner in which we're playing football under Hill is a joy to watch and I think we'll surprise a few people this season.
It's just like watching Brazil

27 Jul 2011 14:34:29
Does anyone else think reading are just holding off for more money for shane long or are they that finacially sound they will let him run down his contract and go for nothing-the whole thing seems strange to me
although they are one of the most financially stable clubs in the championship, i doubt they will let long go for nothing. besides, theres always the january transfer window, or maybe he renews his contract with reading?
--------------------------
Simple answer is we don't want to sell to another team in the championship. If West Brom stump up £6 million plus I'm sure we will sell but we want as much money as possible because we need to replace a 20 goal a season striker.
27 Jul 2011 19:15:33

David Beckham to Wolves. I think some one is dreaming or having a laugh
He wants to go and sit on Micks lap.
27 Jul 2011 18:00:57
wish everyone would stop sayin upson comin to wolves cause hes not why would we wanna sign a slow overrated rubbish player theres a reason no1 bother signin him yet
Jody Craddock and Christophe Berra are hardly greyhounds/
Upson seen driving past Molineux. He had a Vidic mask on.
27 Jul 2011 17:15:57
the championship is without doubt a strong league, but two of the three teams coming up from league 1 have an outstanding chance of back to back promotions.im not saying their going to romp away with it, but play offs for brighton and southampton is on the cards, both clubs have made some great signings and having the winning mentality carried forward from last season watch these clubs fighting in top 6 all season.
as for my club (bristol city) mid table is the very best we can achieve with the current squad.
27 Jul 2011 17:15:00
Wolves will sign scott dann for 1.5 mil plus Berra and keogh maybe vokes
27 Jul 2011 19:23:01

millwall did'nt let henry go to ipswitch so why would they just let him go to burnley all of a sudden ....
MONEY TALKS.
27 Jul 2011 16:58:06
Having watched Sheffield Wednesdays pre season friendly against Barnsley I must say I think Megson and his tactics are from the dark ages and Wednesday need a miracle to go up with him in charge.
27 Jul 2011 16:45:56
Premiership
Chelsea will finish top followed closely by United, I think that Chelsea will just grind it out this season after United have been the better by far the last couple of seasons. City will finish 3rd with Liverpool 4th. Arsenal performing even worse than this season. I believe that out of the 3 promoted teams only norwich will survive, only team who predicted to be down bottom end of table who have actually done their business. Many say poor business but I believe that many will be surprised by how they perform. QPR will battle it out for the last safe spot with Blackburn and Wigan, with Swansea having another season like Derby did a while back.
Championship
I think the teams who got relegated are gona be in for a right shock. The division was so balanced last year and with another 3 good teams coming up as well i could see only Birmingham getting promoted. A lot of strong, physical teams who will make West Ham, Blackpool and Birmingham have to fight til the bitter end for any points. Personally think that Barnsley, Doncaster and Peterborough will all go down next season.
Would like to no where people agree and disagree, without every1 jumping to conclusions saying that there nutsNO ONE CARES, THIS IS NOT A RUMOUR {Ed003's Note - I can see Birmingham struggling myself}
There speaks a Chavski. Chelsea have no chance mate. Citeh and Utd will finish above you.You wont win the Champions League either(again).
27 Jul 2011 16:41:46
burnley wont spend any money on players . Looks like loans only. We are keeping our powder dry as normal utc
27 Jul 2011 16:24:14
This is no joke, regarding the Number 10 shirt. I have just been over the Saints shop at St Mary's to get my new home shirt and the lady behind the counter had a saints shirt with the Nuber 10 on it and Maynard writing at the top, she was very quick to move it when i came to the counter, beleive me or not its up to you, just telling you what i have seen.
Kids eh?
Saints have signed Bill Maynard of Selwyn Froggatt fame.

Blues going into administration so wolves are ready to raid them by signing scott dann for £6 million and are looking at liam ridgewell... Leigh griffiths will join walsall on a short loan ending january to gain some more expierence. just seen matty fryatt pull up outside loftus road in a mercedes and enter the stadium. I asked him what he was doing there and he just grinned and walked in
Probably didnt want to talk to a clown.
Wind probabaly
If Fryatt were at loftus road he'd be grinning because he knows he's about to rip a team off bigtime. It'll all end it tears when he's arrested for impersonating a decent player. The only people who rate Matt Fryatt are Mr & Mrs Fryatt, and they have to cos it's their job, but they secretly think he's s**t, just like everyone else does.

Burnley fc Have made some good signings so far and are about to make another 3 - 4 more Unlike most teams in the Championship we are not in debt infact we have a good bank balance. Two England under 21 internationals from one of the best teams in the premiership not bad, So unless all you False Rumour mongers have any thing positive to add just keep quiet. We would rether have up and coming young quality footballers who are hungry to play, than so called superstars thad demand stupid wages that will bancrupt football clubs.

I'm really starting to get fed up of the people who are constantly slagging off Norwich for buying as they call 'nobodys' and the fact that because of
this they will go straight back down. No surprise that these comments are coming from the supporters of the BIG 4 who clearly haven't seen any football that QPR, Swansea and Norwich have played last season. I hope these supporters are proved wrong and all 3 of these teams avoid relegation.
Oh. A Norwich supporter who can actually spell.
27 Jul 2011 14:04:14
Manager Eddie Howe says he is unlikely to make any more signings before the start of the season and says he would prefer to wait until the PL teams have announced their 25-man squads and start to loan out surplus players.
Even though he's on the official site saying we don't want more loans and are looking at permanent deals .... yeah?
27 Jul 2011 13:54:09
Good news. Leicesters finance could be lost. Rumour are rife that they might be named in the court case involving Birminghams chairman and have assets all frozen.
I doubt this is true but I would laugh my head off if true
Dream on losers
When you have laughed your head off, replace it with a sensible one will you.

TO ALL BRISTOL CITY FANS MAYNARD IS ON HIS WAY TO LEICESTER hows that song go? OH YEA, , , DRY YOUR EYES MATE
27 Jul 2011 13:21:09
Seriously Burnley are not under an embargo, we are not cash strapped we are not after Craig Bellamy, Kyle Lafferty or Lucianno Becchio. If you wanna create a rumour jesus at least make it believable. Utter crap comes from half of you
Why dont u practise what u preach then loser, becchio would not wana go to a club that is smaller and finished below a team he is currently worshipped at.....
What you on about? the person said burnle are NOT after becchio.
27 Jul 2011 13:19:28
Leicester are to sign every available player in UK and Europe to ensure that they go up this season....apparently according to every other comment on here. It is still only possible to get 14 players onto a pitch in any single game; they will end up with a lot of bored and unhappy players....and lots of unrest haha...
Aww is diddums jealous? two more on the way in, including Michael Johnson from Man City. Have a good cry love, you'll feel a lot better if you let it out.
Why would he or anyone else be jealous of your pathetic little club? SGE is a loser and he will fail next season a be off for whoever pays him obscene amounts the next season...

Emmanuel Adebayor
Mario Balotelli
Craig Bellamy
Edin Dzeko
Roque Santa Cruz
Alex Tchuimeni-Nimely
Carlos Tevez
Jo
Caiceido add Aguero to that list and that's alot of strikers man city need to learn when to stop buying at least before they sell... why did they buy Dzeko he was a waste of money an isn't going to get a game especially when Man City on play with 1 up front there turning this league into a complete joke at least Chelsea bought squads when Abromovic bought them Man City just go an buy players that aren't even needed if you buy Balotelli and Dzeko you obviously think there good enough for your team so why go out and spend 40m on Aguero its ridiculous don't just buy players because you can because if you haven't noticed money doesn't buy team spirit just gives players big heads cant wait until Aguero leaves in about 3 years to see who you will try and buy then Rooney? haha wouldn't surprise me if you tried no matter what you spend you will always be s****y Man City.

To the dumb ass who wrote that nicky maynard was left out of bristol city side who played against forest green rovers last night 80% of citys side was their second team. Reason being that most of their first team are getting ready for saturdays friendly against west brom. But only somebody who is a true fan of football would realise that. Plus city have realeased their team photo today and guess who's in it. Thats right nicky maynard. Leister could offer 10 , 20 , or 50 mill for nicky plus whatever player they want but you never get him. No championship club will {Ed001's Note - Liverpool had Xabi Alonso in all the new kit release photos just before he signed for Real Madrid and there are numerous other similar instances. Being in a team photo is no guarantee a player will stay at the club.}
I love when fans tell the fans of other clubs how much their club has to pay before "we" sell him. You're deluded pal, football is a business and everyone out there has a price. All you've gotta do is find that price and KER-CHING it's all over.
27 Jul 2011 12:44:56
f**k off maynard yu ay even that good, overrated and has messed both bristol and all of the teams intrested in him around too much, everyone should jus pull out and meck him realise that hes a douche and hes done a douchey thing
im a leicester fan and much rather have waggy than him
sven pull out whilst ya can, paying silly money for a player who weres injured for practically a hole season last year and never kicked a ball in the prem, sort it out and keep waghorn
Wow, i'm guessing you skipped an awful lot of School last term?
Could some one translate that for me? haha all that over an average player.
Wow, you know that feeling when your fellow fans let you down?
translate as "I would not like Maynard at the King Power thankyou however that Martyn Waghorn fella is just super" lol

after Chad Ochocinco soccer trial in America, some english teams took a liking to his style and tenacity.
the NFL Wide Reciever has been looking for a new lifestyle, and is able to play in multiple attacking positions.
it is thought that the major clubs linked to Chad is Burnly, Brighton and Watford.
YEAH RIGHT The guy is 33 - no one is going to take a chance on him at his age

SVE is a first class manager who knows the game better than most. He is building a team to challenge for promotion. This is quite a novelty for most Leicester fans (yes I am one) who have endured some very difficult times in recent years, administration, relegation, Ian Holloway, Mandric, etc. The Thai people seem the real deal, time will tell, but in the meantime we revel in our ability to compete for top players and we hope for the very best. Letus have our moment. I suspect the Championship will be as tough as ever and every game will be fully contested by all sides. Those that get promoted usually deserve it.
Good post - as a life long saint we know what its like to suffer and get kicked when your down....make the most of all thats rosy in the garden whenever you can....
I have to disagree with the "building a team" comment, when u build a team u start from the bottom and it takes a few seasons, sven is buying a team for promotion as qpr did last yr, if it works then do it no jealousy at all hope u do go up but please dont say sven is a class manager, hes only good when there is a potless transfer kitty and mark my words thats the reason he joined. all the best for next season though
The thai people seem the real deal like taksin when he took over at man city thailand is ungoing another change taksin is back via a proxy his sister so things may well change 4 lfc owners over here in bkk

A little off topic but, any chance we can get a protest or a petition going against the sun, can't stand it when they and Americans for that matter call our beautiful game soccer, it's football, at least we have the decency to call their game american football, when let's face it it's more like rugby with it's kicking, they could at least call it European football. As for the sun, mostly full of crap anyway they should know better, let's stamp it out.

The Daily Mirror keep reporting that 'Forest will sell Camp at the right price' now they've said he 'wants to move to Swansea'. I have a feeling the Daily Mirror's sports editor is Welsh, can anybody clarify this.
Besides, we wouldn't sell one of our top players so close to the beginning of the season, especially the best goalkeeper in the Championship.
Go sniff around somewhere else Brendan, have a look at a loan from Chelsea, but your valuation of Camp stinks and doesn't match ours, so yer not having him.
Camp has said that he is committed to the job in hand so I don't know how the Daily Mirror work that into their story.
It's simply a case of filling column inches.

so is aguero still going to liverpool? haha
Typical statement from a plastic fan, but to that response we have a better player in Suarez who was the player of the Copa America tournament, outshone the likes of Agureo, Messi and Tevez, say's it all really, its shows we have a player with real passion to play for club and country instead of player with a real passion to play for money and then wanting to move on in 2 to 3 yrs time like Tevez.
You wernt saying that a month ago, SCOUSE MOUSE. Awww is diddums LiverFool jealous he didnt want to come to your backwater club.
Not jealous mate, i bet when your team lose a game you lot hide under the covers not able to face the world, signing when your winning crying when you lose, wanting to hang yourselves from the nearest tree, seen it all too often with you plastic fans, at least us Liverpool fans have diginty- go home to your mummy little boy, there's a milk lolly waiting for you. {Ed003's Note - Strawberry ? Mmmmm}
Thanks, i havnt had a lolly for ages. No mate when my team lose im looking DOWN the table to see where you are. Hows your European preparations going? Nearest you lot will get is a day trip to Calais. haha
Another baccy run

haha ha some fans are clueless, villa to sign pastore, funny guy. Im a villa fan and im telling you to get your head out the clouds, and to the bloke that said we narrowly avoided relegation, finishing in 9th is no way near getting relegated, did you stop watching the season in febuary? By the way united won the leauge and city won the f.a cup.
27 Jul 2011 08:22:31
some of these rumours are dim-witted as j.henry is not going any where and we are not gonna get relegated .

Lots of people saying West Ham will walk the league this season, I'm a West Ham fan and I'm not 100% convinced as yet. A new manager, although with great experience and so far good signings however this could take time to gel. I'd be happy to make comments on this after the first 8-10 games. Cardiff on Sunday week will be difficult and the team will be nervous. Everyone playing WHU could see it as a cup final, the team to beat so to speak.
It would be great to finish top or second however top six for me at the moment is more realistic. Waiting for my new West Ham shirt to be delivered today will wear it with pride. Good luck to all teams in the championship may the best team win it.
West Ham will do well at home but will drop too many points on the road to finish in the top two. When the Hammers arrive in town, it will be a Cup Final for most teams like Doncaster, Burnley, Barnsley, Posh, etc...
I don't think anyone will see west ham as "a cup final".
Long ball football played under a boring manager is hardly cup final material...

If thats the basis we are going on, I'd expect Maynard on a free Thought's, Ed?

ha thats really funny. brighton and millwall will be top half finishes...everyone wrote millwall off last year and we beat qpr at the den 2-0 with no morison and finished above leicester ipswich watford and so on lol there are some didalos out there
Morison scored the first goal. It was probably his best goal for us, exposed Shittu for what he is, good at heading the ball clear but get behind him and he is a yard short of pace. This was shown up when he dragged down Morison in the box conceding a penalty and being sent off in the process. Trotter scored from the spot, not bad considering we had "no morison"

anyone who thinks wolves will be relegated is wrong we will end up in a comfortable league position away from the relegation zone this year we have 2 years experience of the prem and any fan of the newly promoted teams (QPR, swansea or norwich) who think their going to finish above us is wrong do you really think your squad is better than ours? we won the championship with a better team than all 3 and have struggled to survive so them thinking they will finish above us is optimistic Finally the three teams to go down will be wigan, blackburn and norwich, i personally think QPR and swansea will just have enough and finish 17th and 16th in the league respectively with west brom, fulham, stoke and then wolves comfortably above them
wwfl
I don't particularly like Wolves, but I have to agree with you. A team being built up with better players coming in, good luck.

brighton changing away strip to pink with white dots to celebrate their new stadium
they are also signing messi and rooney as they are such a big club

Any news on where rossi is going too? Heard juventus put a bid of 40 mil in I don't believe he's worth that much. Since when did juve get 40 mil from? Also I dnt believe nasri will go to utd.wenger won't sell to utd. I can't see villa doing much better then last year. Mcleish is a very defensive type of manager. final thing if spurs sell modric they will struggle. He's the only top quailty player at spurs. Bale is a one hit wonder. When have we last seen him play like he did at the San siro againist inter?

Everton wont finish 7th. I have a feeling they'll lose one or two of their top players and fail to replace them.
Think it's worrying financial times ahead for the Toffees and I think consolidation is the key to their survival in this league over the coming seasons.
Whoever just wrote this Everton comment above hasnt got a clue if we lose a player it will only be 1 and most definatly will be replaced so dont be so stupid, if we buy a striker why cant we challenge for 5th spot? and at the moment no-one of our players will be going because Jagielka is the only one thats been bid on an 10m is an absolute joke so unless Wenger doubles that no players will be leaving
27 Jul 2011 02:04:03

please someone take the following - obertan, welbeck, evans, carrick, berbatov, anderson they aint good enough, i can see it, and so can everyone else, united got away with it last season, due to chelsea having a mid life crisis, and their team being past it, arsenal and their stubborn manager, man city being full of mercenaries and a negative manager, liverpool having a squad full of average players, spurs having no 1 to score goals, i cant see them getting away with it again.
27 Jul 2011 01:09:15
we had nasri, sanchez, young, modric, fabregas, tevez, pastore, neymar all desperately trying to sell themselves to the highest bidder, their agents using the media to push through the moves or start a bidding war, how much % are these agents on? their greed is killing football, what happens if gervinho has a good season at aresnal, he is a talented player, i tell you what will happen, his agent will feed the media stories of possible interest from another club, forcing arsenal to either up his wages or he may go elsewhere, and the season after it happens all again , until its clear that arsenal cant go any higher with his wages and then he and his agent will force a move to a club that can offer the money he wants, we have seen it all before, adebayor, ronaldo, tevez, nasri, the list is endless, ive said it before, football is now a business, run by media, sponsors with buckets of cash to sell their wares and agents and footballers are more than willing to exploit this .
27 Jul 2011 01:34:41
sergio aguero will probably move to city but he is having to convince his family of a life in england , so is this him laying the foundations for a possible move back to spain cos of family being unable to settle? im certain he wont stay at city for more than 2 seasons, in fact id take the bet right now.
