Scottish football is dead and has no future,its time for the bigger clubs to join the English leagues,and whatever is left should be like the welsh league,plus I also don't see the point in the league cup,either the premiership teams pull out or at least the teams taking part in European games,also Europa league games need to move from Thursdays,it is also similar to league cup,way too many reserve players playing,its all about top 4 finish,avoiding relegation,being promoted and nobody cares for these cups,and that also includes the fa cup. {Ed003's Note - Have I got this right??? Because the Scottish league have problems,the English Fa drop 2,3,4? clubs into non league to accommodate the Scottish "big" clubs?}

Believable0 Unbelievable1

Yep,Celtic, rangers, hearts, hibs, dundee utd, motherwell, aberdeen, kilmarnock and whoever else should join our leagues, its the only way they can survive,it would be great for the game, help Scottish footie,or scotlands team will continue to fall behind.

Agree0 Disagree0

If celtic and rangers go to england doesnt this mean they cant qualify for europe?

Agree0 Disagree0

Celtic and rangers are dead.they all seem to think along with the Scottish media that they have the god given right to compete with the very best of Europe.these days are long gone.Maribor malmo Sion ,at least hearts went out to a decent team.

Agree0 Disagree0

Of course they can qualify if they join englands league, they just have to finish in the top 4 like everyone else, but i doubt they would risk it.

Agree0 Disagree0

The welsh league should be disbanded it's so bad. all the lesser EPL teams (wigan, wolves) won't agree to the scottish teams going in to the EPL because the teams like rangers, celtic, hearts would push them into the championship. and don't say hearts would be relegated cos they were beat by totenham because totenham beat wigan 9-1 not so long ago

Agree0 Disagree0

Surely if they are to enter the english leagues then they have to start at the very bottom, its what the Welsh clubs did, there is no way that they should be allowed to just enter at the top flight (especially as they wont be good enough to survive premiership football)

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm sure that all the English clubs that have been in the league for a hundred years would love the idea of welcoming more clubs to compete with in attempting to reach the holy grail that is the premiership. Teams like Leeds, Leicester, Both Sheffield clubs, Burnley, preston, etc that have formed part of English football history.
The Scottish teams would like a piece of the Sky pie, that's all. They are not and never will be part of English football.
Sad as, it may be that Scottish football is currently going through a period of decline, the answer does not lay in the English leagues. For a start they play in front of crowds of just a few thousand in the main and the big clubs are still paying stupid wages for mediocre players.Perhaps the scottish clubs need to look inwardly to see where their problems really lie.

Agree0 Disagree0

No one cares about the plight of Scottish football. They only want to join the prem because of the money that goes with it.
none of the clubs in Scotland would be good enough for the championship let alone the best league in the world.

Agree0 Disagree0

Re no one cares about the plight of scottish football.
not all of us scots want in the prem and i would not call your league the best in the world.
us scots pay our money to sky sports but most of the money goes to the e.p.l. would it not be better if sky gave our teams a better t.v. deal then we would have a better product.

Agree0 Disagree0

Maybe you're right Jock, I think you should be trying to sort a better deal with sky. That has nothing to do with the EPL. It just seems to always come round to Scottish clubs playing in England as a solution to your SPL problems, when in reality we don't want your teams playing here and what you really want is a better standard of football in Scotland. Why should that be of interest to anyone in England? I'm sure that most Scots wouldn't be sad if the shoe were on the other foot.

Rangers beat Blackpool this year with our kids for a full second half Maximus. This is why you want John Fleck who 19.Last night was tragic. The first time in 50 years, that all the Scots clubs have been out this early. But the results in the league cup in England.Shows that the championship is not much better.Even if it has more money than the SPL.

Work in Rotherham, & heard today that Le Fondre may be priced too high to leave by Andy Scott. Sheff Wednesday only one's put in an offer below asking price (originally at £500K). But Scott is waiting for offers from Championship clubs in order to raise the figure for a bidding war To date alleged interest is from Notts County, Coventry, & Bristol City if they lose Maynard to Leicester. Rumour is Le Fondre would like to stay in South Yorkshire area, but only Wednesday put bid in. Sheff United not interested, Barnsley & Donny too poor to buy him.

Stoke city will sign a number of players before the transfer window closes, not enough to set the league on fire but we will get some big scalps this season. Norwich fans who've posted some pretty childish stuff on here........one or two games doing ok in the premier league is not enough to start shouting about.....wait till the last five games of the season and we'll see where you are. If you don't win a good number of your home games you're relegated.....simple as that. Don't put Stoke down...we've survived and I wouldn't swap our team for yours. Good luck.....you're gonna need it.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

The Europa league is a bonus for the mighty mighty Potters too

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't be silly, Norwich put out a team of players that won't be in the 25 the club had no interest in the carling cup, did you read Tuesday morning local papers

Stoke have done reallly well last season finishing around mid-table, thwen runners up in FA cup to qualify for Europa legue appearance this year. Well done. do we survive this year? Well the "BIG 4" are going to remain the big 4 but several clubs are going to join they where the air is rare. We have a terrific defence, good home support, but that where the list ends.
We urgently need support for midfield and forwards. Without this much needed support or even use our present batch as support to improved players (or mix), stoke is going to fight the hardest battle for survival in the EPL this year due to the strain of the europa league on our players.
Pulis its time to buy NOW

Believable2 Unbelievable1

How can this be a strain in europa. i thought you were treating it as a holiday

Agree0 Disagree0

TP has done us allright so far so we have to keep the faith and believe that he will bring in the players that we need.Hopefully no more centre backs but a left back, centre mid and 2 forwards will do with a winger as a bonus.

Agree0 Disagree0

So a full team then ?

Believable3 Unbelievable2

I agree that you're not a Leicester fan and are more likely some bitter rival from a smaller club jealous of us. It's not been a great start granted, but there's a long way to go and real Leicester fans know that. Grow up wee man

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm just happy maximus is back after his little hissy fit. His posts are hilarious and he's clearly too thick to notice the rest of us are laughing at him, not with him, which is why he's still signing his posts I guess he thinks Blackpool are the be all and end all, says it all really... have another tantrum maximus, i enjoyed the last one.

When will Bristol City fans understand that they are a small time club who are heading back to league one - where they should be. Nicky Maynard is in the process of completing a deal with Leicester City but it is unlikely to be complete by Saturday. Martyn Waghorn will not be involved in the deal. Before everyone starts saying it is a leicester fan making up rubbish, I am a Southampton fan, so Bristol fans need to get real, a move for Maynard to Leicester is only an upwards move for him Southampton will sign two more players by the end of the window on another note.

Wolves will surprise a few people this season with their flowing football and positive tactics. I don't think we will get all the players we are linked with yet but there will be some very big names in January when we have established ourselves in the top four. At least one cup, top four finish and champions league football for Wolves. It is a return to the glory days for the old gold and black. Expect McCarthy to be linked with some top jobs as the sackings start. We will do well to hold on to him.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Mate, the 1st of april has passed

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Don't you just love these idiots who
think we didn't let MK Dons win,
we don't want cups, Read the local
press on the day of the match, same
applies with QPR and Swansea, none
had any interest on Tuesday,
So thicko's let me tell you the rewards
for staying in the premier league are
greater than winning the Cup, Ask
the Birmingham city fan what they would prefer
right now

Believable0 Unbelievable5

But your theory falls down cos you've no chance of staying in the Premier League, mind you, you didn't have a chance of winning the League Cup either. I bet it's s**t being you.

Agree0 Disagree0

If that was the case why even bother fielding a team that loss whether you wanted to be in the cup or not will be the start of your down fall

Agree0 Disagree0

The point is that you don't have the strength in depth to put a decent team out twice in a week and will struggle in the prem. I hope you stay up, but think you need to add forwards who can create goalscoring opportunities, which doesn't come cheap.

Agree0 Disagree0

But there were only 3 players that will be in the 25 come thursday, No interest and

but without cheating We out played both of them for most of the 90min

Southampton are once again in the financial mire. They will not refuse offers for any of their players, with little, if any proceeds being reinvested into the team.
Liebherr did not pay off the club's debts, he refinanced them and the heirs to his estate are becoming increasingly frustrated in their efforts to sell the club.
They are on the verge of pulling out completely, having currently no input into the running of the club.

Believable1 Unbelievable5

Yeah right, dream on mate

Agree0 Disagree0

I think you just made this up, is it just because Portsmouth can't have owners who aren't connected to the Russian mafia, when you say that they have no input on the day to day running of the club, thats because they left it to cortese who has work with the family for a number of years. finally they are unlikley to want to sell the club at this stage because it was markus leibherr's pride and joy

Agree0 Disagree0

Seems like refused to sell chamberlain untill his dad was low on funds and convinced him to go to arsenal
