Derby County will begin negotiations with many potential under 18 and under 21 players in the coming weeks. Potentially around 4 or 5 new players.
Derby's main asset in attracting the best youth prospects is the clear pathway from the under 18 team to the 1st team that not many clubs have examples to offer.
Derby can show these younger players how Will Hughes, Mason Bennett, Jeff Hendrick, Mark Obrien etc. Firstly were spotted by the backroom staff in the under 18 team then given a fair chance in the under 21 and finally a manager in Nigel Clough who gives players a go in the 1st team.
