The hottest rumour around is that MK Dons have no money to spend and will not be signing any players on a permanent basis during this transfer window. They may, however, sign one loan player just before the window closes, as is customary practice at the club.

There are lots of rumours and names being linked with Reading fc on this site, truth is only karleigh Osbourne of brentford is the only player the royals will defo be going for. The wage budget is not changing drastically, despite the turnover so expect the royals to go about business as usual and start building a title winning squad in the summer. Osbourne (Def) Sheppard (For) expect a Midfielder to sign before end of Jan and that will be all for now folks!

Salif to Wigan? you nuts? he's settled, 34, few years of Liverpool cash behind him. better off scout for TP, and start to manage African Nation chaps who feel ripped off with substandard contracts. He's a familiar face and bright enough to do it well. Fewer injuries, less work, easier life.

Liverpool scouts have been watching Fernando Llorente, with a view to activating his release clause. Other targets for the reds include Jelavic of Rangers, who is rumoured to command a fee of at least £6m and Krasic, who has been offered to The Reds by Juve for a deal thought to be around £14m. Jovetic and Bent also remain on The Reds radar as they look to boost there striking ranks after a poor season in front of goal.

Sad news for Swindon fans, Flint will be sold before the transfer deadline, he is a target for Middlesborough and the deal is almost done ! For a fee expected to be in the region of 700k + add ons. Ritchie could also be going next week.... dont poo poo it, the bid will be right for the club and allow Paolo to bring in the Championship striker he wants which will astound league2. Boateng was not bought here to sit on the bench, he has been loaned with the promise of first team football to replace Flint....

Three teams are also after Caddis, but PDC has told the board he will not let the captain go.

Reading takeover update:

• The club will go for Category One Academy status, the highest possible ranking, ensuring a bright future for our young talents.

Most Premiership clubs don't have Cat A status. Good news.

‚Ä¢ TSI said they will take 51% of the club in stage one, for £25million.

Not £40m as the papers claimed. Stage 2 buyout in a couple of years when Sir John Madejski steps down as Chairman and becomes Life President.

• TSI confirmed that their founder Anton Zingarevich went to nearby Bearwood College, and he paid to watch the Royals play at Elm Park as a youngster.

• Anton met Brian McDermott in Milan last week. Anton was there to watch the Milan derby, and stayed up with Brian until 1am talking football.

He has a genuine passion for football which bodes well.

• TSI will press ahead with the stadium expansion to 38,000 as was approved by Reading Borough Council in 2006 when Reading were in the Premier League.

The expansion of the East Stand will remain one tier, becoming the UK's largest one tier stand.

• TSI have not ruled out stadium rebranding, but at a later date.

Agree0 Disagree0

Not as worried as you obviously are about us being 2nd. Where are you?

As a stoke fan I want put a lot of stuff to rest
1) Defoe won't be coming (why would spurs sell us a top striker whilst they are vying for the league)
2)Stoke wont buy Tim Cahill (everton need him) nor Baines (Stoke cant afford him, nor would he come)
3) to my knowledge we havent ever done swap deals before, yet alot of you are convinced that we are going to be swapping half the squad for half of soembodys elses squad.....IT NEVER HAPPENS due to contracts, agents etc
4) Pulis has said that he will only buy if someone becomes avaiable and so far no one has. We might buy a full back and we might buy a back up winger, but in januarys inflated market do not bet on it

So i urge my fellow stokies to stop making up garbage and get real.

Will bid 10m + Wilshere on loan for rest of season (to gain fitness and form) to Hudderdfield for Jordan Rhodes to replace RVP.
Arsenal also offering contract to Michael Ball, who left Leicester and now has no club, to sort out problems at left back.

It appears that Stoke are in for Tim Cahill and Leyton Baines, tbh i can see they Cahill one happening but Baines come on! hes one if not the best in English football right now. On the other hand Everton appear to be after Ricardo Fuller & Kenwyne Jones. I can't see they signing 3 strikers including Romelu Lukaku and as he said on Sky Sports that he will consider a loan move in the summer transfer window, he didn't say where to. Stoke DJ Campbell is nearly done according to some people and Jermaine Defoe is a 'Possible'. A lot of Stoke transfer rumours are going around like Diame from Wigan, i can't see them all happening myself as we have a strong team but may need a Left back as Wilson is on the downhill. - My view.

The only reason that in the event of of Rednapp being banged up that Spurs might want Poyet is that he's been a coach their before. However, as a Brighton fan I do admire I doubt that Spurs would want somebody that inexperienced, Brighton after all is his first managerial post and although we are a club on the up we are not in the same class as Spurs. If he gets us into the Premier, which certainly won't be this season it might be an idea but even then I would doubt it. Managing a top flight Premier club is a very different ball game to that of a team who have just claimed out of League 1. As for his sentence, well, if he is convicted I reckon that because he's well known he will be made an example of. As was said earlier Lester Pigott and Ken Dodd are but two who found this out.

Watford boss Sean Dyche is desperate for more attacking options, and is looking no further than another loan for Andreas Weimann. The Aston Villa youngster's second loan at Watford was cut short by Villa earlier this season, but Dyche hopes to bring him back until the end of the season, with a view to bringing him in permanently, should money for the transfer and wages allow.

I think this is quite likely, as Weimann speaks very highly of Watford and he was the one who talked Jonathan Hogg into signing for Watford.

Jordan Rhodes 3 million 5 million 6 million your having a laugh ! He aint worth that and only a mug is gonna pay that for him !
Any one saying there isnt any difference between league 1 and the championship are obviously still in League 1 !
As a Leeds fan let me tell you the diffence is massive. There are many top class players in the Championship lots of premiership loan(ees) and ex prem players with out standing ability. The style of football is completely different and is not the Pub football thats played in league one where the midfield never touch the ball as its hoofed out of defence for strikers to run on to ! Jordan Rhodes in the eyes of the terrier fans is worth miilions to them as without him there promotion dreams would crash and burn. Reality is a lot different, he is un tried at a much higher level and for me looks short of real pace which i can testify is something that most championship teams defenders have ! So dont build this kid to be the next big thing he might not be ! See Jermaine Beckford who has fantastic pace and cant even get a first team regular shirt at Leicester. 30 goals a season div 1 f*** all everywhere else !! Dream on Terriers your deluded if you think he is worth more than 2 million untried and looks slower than steptoes horse !

Believable1 Unbelievable2

Its not like we've already recieved bids of over 4 mil for him, but we ain't selling, deanos already made that very clear... Just jealous mate

Agree0 Disagree0

There is a difference but the jump is not that much from league 1 to champ or champ to bottom half of prem hence norwich gaining bk to bk promotion with ex non league players not the norm but if the gap was as big as you suggest it would not happen
Rhodes when he goes will be worth how much a club deems he s worth not that long ago a certain fabian delph went to villa for 6m untried and untested in the premier league chamberlain 13m to the gooners and never lit up even league oneat the time. what theses players provide is a prospect to be a top top player 10m for a player which could generate double in five years is a risk but thats why clubs watch players before buying.
and as someone who watches him week in week out he is no slouch but has everything scores with both feet good header of the ball but his positional play is outstanding to compare beckford to rhodes is laughable rhodes is a better player in all departments

To the dimwit who put lower down pilkington for England, you're obviously not aware the boy has an Irish under 21 cap. This means he'll never ever ever play for England. As for Norwich rumours I've heard that we are holding off announcing howson to confirm a double signing. Since all the talk on here is of rodriguez, rhodes, snodgrass etc you can almost rule them out. Lambert seems good at keeping his plans away from places like here.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

If he has only played for Ireland u21 he is still elidgable to play for England full squad, so think before you attack someone, he is not quite the finished artical yet though needs more time there are better players infront of him!

Dear Southampton;

Thank you so much for the 6pts this season. We're a team that has largely been in disarray and we have failed to fulfill our potential. We'll be lucky to make the playoffs now seeing as we've left it so late but there's always next season and we seem to be going in the right direction at last.

It heartens me to know that, even in these dark times, there is always at least one team who can be relied upon to make themselves, and their oh-so-arrogant fans, look stupid. Southampton ran around looking more like Div1 wannabe's than Premier League bound Champions, and you know what, that's what they are.

For all their talk about being brilliant, Southampton were taken apart by an average Leicester side. They've gone from leading the Championship by 5pts to trailing West Ham by 3pts and there's worse to come as there are some seriously good teams lining up to smash them.

Here's to Southampton missing the playoffs altogether, one win in the last four league games isn't the form of promotion chasers, it's the form of a team who have lost their bottle, although you'll never admit that. I don't care who Southampton play from now on, i'll support them... c'mon Cardiff!

I thought i'd thank you now because i expect every Southampton fan who has been bragging like a small boy in the playground since the first week of the season, to suddenly forget where this site is once they miss the playoffs. Nice support btw, it's good to see such a huge, well supported, club filling it's stadium.

Premier League - you're having a laugh!

Believable6 Unbelievable3

..can't win them all my friend, LFC played well granted, but we shall be back with our full strength team soon and hopefully the results will follow.

A 'non arrogant' saints fan

Agree0 Disagree0

Now that is very thoughtful and well presented post. It shows just how far Saints have come that a supporter of another team takes the time and attention to bother with such detail ?¢‚Ǩ‚Äú it is a big compliment to us ?¢‚Ǩ‚Äú thank you so much?¢‚Ǩ¬¶?¢‚Ǩ¬¶.COYRs

Agree0 Disagree0

Talking of support you had 592 fans at the game....great support....yes we were poor last night i admit that....Leicester thoroughly deserved to win and no honest Saints fan would deny it. Now i am not making excuses but we had 4 players missing that are very influential to our team, Lambert, Chaplow, Fonte and
Lallana and this proves to me we have not got the strength in depth needed to push on, having said that with players coming back from injury and a couple of new signings i believe we will make the play offs at least.

STID COYR

Agree0 Disagree0

Actually, Leicester had 700 fans there, not bad at all considering it was a Monday Night, everyone had work the next day, and the game was on TV. Kind of puts the 1100 you took to Leicester into perspective eh? You couldn't even use your full allocation for a Saturday game, well done.

Agree0 Disagree0

Woah! The arrogant Leicester fans who were gonna win the league before a ball had been kicked have come out of hiding. We won't disappear so easily. STID

Agree0 Disagree0

We diserved to win the away match and were missing half are players yesterday, as for Leister being an average side give yourself some credit you closed us down very well yesterday but don't make stupid uninformed comments

Agree0 Disagree0

Umm, unless something has changed in the last few minutes, a team consists of 11 players. So how does missing 4 players constitute half of your team?

Is that it fella's? The best you can muster is "we deserved to win the away leg" (shoulda woulda coulda - didn't) and 'are' (not 'our'?) players was injured... oh dear

Agree0 Disagree0

Lambert, lallana, fonte, Chaplow, richardson, and lee would be in the side if he was ready that's 6 over half the team, not including these normal players replacements were also injured

Very poor showing from the saints again, prime showing for how poor our cover is, please cortese buy someone after all it is your decisions, why else would that awful guly get in the side, such good work 1st half of season to throw it all away with lack of ambition from board, now don't get me wrong I and most genuine saints fans would never imagined we would b where we are BUT why the hell don't we capitalise on it, I'm not on about spending 6m on 1 player, there are players out there that would do a job ie
Simon cox 1.5m
Simeon Jackson 1.5m
Michael mancienne 1.5
Matt Phillips 2.5+puncheon
And dare I say it Joel ward 1m
And please Nigel stop tinkering too much during game players end up not knowing what there doing and we end up losing all shape

Believable1 Unbelievable2

Knee-jerk reaction. Understand disappointment but other than Phillips don't think your list would make great deal of difference. Guly is a very annoying enigma but not many other strikers have scored 10 league goals so far. We've brought 2 in and cortese obviously working hard to bring in more. Tried and failed with Hooper and that's just the one we know about but also indicates the problem of Jan t/f market. Oh and what the hell is Nigel supposed to do when we are 2 down after 30 mins!

Agree0 Disagree0

And now your bubble has burst like we all said half empty stadium poor poor support

Ha ha lost again bet your big mouth fans wish they kept quite now and all this talk of you having the 5th richest chairman don't look like you have as much money as you thought o well ha ha you lost again

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree we were terible last night, the thing is us Saints fans knew even when we were doing well that we had no cover so Adkins and Cotese must of known. We have to streghten there is no doubt about that and in this window. The end of the day it is not a desperate situation is it we are still second after all.
I mean we could be 17th with no owners, no money, no training facilities and about to wound up.
NOW THAT IS A DESPERATE SITUATION

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree - we just did not turn up last night, but credit where its due ?¢‚Ǩ‚Äú Leicester were quicker, and played with more commitment than us, and so deserved the win?¢‚Ǩ¬¶..keep the faith?¢‚Ǩ¬¶COYRS

Agree0 Disagree0

Dan Harding at right back is so wrong when Fraser Richardson has been one best players this season, the backbone of our team was missing last night and it was evident that we are not strong enough with out Lambert, Lallana, Fonte and Chaplow....I am a loyal season ticket holder and the fans that Booed Saints at half time ought to be ashamed of themselves....Full credit to Leicester they played well and deserved to win COYR

Agree0 Disagree0

Your bubble is bursting you over achieved, your just not that good, simple!

Agree0 Disagree0

Not so much a poor show, give credit to LFC then completely out played us. Don't forget we are with out at least 4 of our top players in Lambo, Lallana, Fonte and Chapper - all returning in the next fews games. Adkins understands the postition we are in, signing a load of players won't necessarily mean we get better results, look how long its taken for Leceister to gel together. Lets not get too brash, we can't win them all, we will get some bad results and drop points as will other teams around us.

COYR's

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't forget leicester were without players too

Agree0 Disagree0

But you weren't without your best striker (Lambert), your best player (Lallana), your best defender (Fonte), some bite (Chaplow) and a left back on the right. However, at least, you make a football comment unlike these bubble blowing children.

I think someone's sulking

Agree0 Disagree0

OMG its Disastrous, a Catastrophe, the end of the world, i mean we are only second in the Championship, think your find no one sulking mate Second aint bad considering everyone had us down for relagation this season, if that means our bubble has burst then brilliant keep on bursting baby.

Agree0 Disagree0
