VERY weak squad i agree, the back line has leaks written all over it, Gerrard apart, a very average midfield and how the hell you can put Welbeck in after one VERY average season up front (now and again) for Man Utd is beyond me, (Rooney n Welbeck were'nt exactly prolific for united were they, thats why they lost the title on goal difference, just did'nt score enough!) ((plus that six past them from City did'nt help any)).......IMO a very weak squad and we can only hope his euro squad has more steel to it!

Mate as Saints fan i would be well happy with that starting 11, looks strong to me. Now we need to wake up allthough there not that unrealistic like some posted on here. I still struggle seeing Jarvis, Clyne and Dann happening. I think there will be alot of clubs after Jarvis so i think we will lose out. There are genuine rumours about Mna U interested in Clyne so that counts him out. Dann not to sure about. As for the others could see us going for player like them but would imagine lots of othere clubs would as well.

Stevenage played with one of the smallest squads in the footbal leagues and I just checked the estimated net worth of the team.... I am suprised to discover that the estimated value on an average per player calculation is just over £150,000 making us 15th in League 2! As such the money coming in (if rumours are remotely correct) + the takings from the FA cup and TV rights along with Smith keeping the squade small we can offer good salaries whilst making good offers for players in contract. It is dissapointing to loose such long term players but in the end this was about their level of play as a team so the changes happening should bring a change for the better. And if we sign some suprises, for those not in know, it will be what is offered off the field with our training facilities and methods (the training coach never went to PNE) which even premier managers acknowledge as superb.

What, for having a reasonable shortlist? Good one you muppet. Which one of those names is a ridiculous shout? None. All are likely to be sold this summer or at least there is a chance. Southampton are likely to invest this summer.

He's not said he will sign every player.

There is a lot of players but at least its a realistic list of players unlike the one the Skates keep posting on here for us. We will sign about 4-5 players this season and the chances are that at least a couple might just be in that list. Nice post mate even if we dont get any in that list they are the sort of players we will try and sign, no superstars but good players.

Saints like to get gems from abroad, so I can't see us signing loads of well known players from the UK
