Heard over a week ago AVB had been interviewed for the West Brom job. Today again I've heard he's had a second interview. My £20 @ 50/1 was just a punt but why is he now as low as 9/1 ? Ed what you know ? {Ed013's Note - Honestly I hope you put a bet on it and it pays off, but hand on heart, he wont go to West Brom. If I am wrong please come back and tell me how much you won}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Not to be a smart ar$e Ed013, but if he put £20 on 50/1, you shouldn't need him to tell you how much he has won later...
Just saying

I've been using this site for four years now and if you go through my past posts I've broken many stories from Kaka to Madrid, Torres to Chelsea and Suarez to Liverpool way before any journalists did. I am reliable is what I'm trying to say and post on here what I am told from various sources.

Anyway, Grant Holt was approached by a number of clubs (Sunderland, Stoke, Everton) but I'm hearing he will be moving to Goodison Park to partner Jelavic. Who will Lambert replace him with? Free agent Michael Owen. Yes expect the former Liverpool and Man Utd striker to sign for the canaries within the coming weeks...

On the Liverpool manager situation; FSG are looking at a number of people to fill the boots of Kenny but I highly doubt Martinez will be an option they go for. It's a toss up between AVB and Benitez but Fenway Sports are supposed to favour the younger man and don't want to replicate another 'fan favourite' situation with Rafa like they had with Dalglish.

Hazard to City is a dead cert, meaning Johnson will probably move to either Spurs or Liverpool for around £10m. Van Persie is also on City's wish list but Inter and Madrid are also interested.

Michael Owen in talks with Graham Turner about a player coach role at Shrewsbury Town

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

He's taliking to Di Canio at Swindon about a player / Coach role....providing he can replace PDC in a year when PDC moves on! Swindon certainly a place that ex players cut their managerial teeth.
----------------------------------------------
Both are wrong as he has strong links with a move to some to Championship clubs and some lower premier league teams, a career in coaching can wait

I know that players should be more loyal but Bates needs to recognise that in order to succeed, we need to compete with what other teams are offering players. If we lose Mccormack and Snoddy then it looks like it will be another season of being mid-table or even a relegation fight! Sort yourself out Bates!

What just throw the money at the fat striker? Sell him replace him move on, we have a problem with our players sometimes , they have some good games in the season and go missing the rest of the time and they seem to think they become superstars, Ross is about 2 stone over weight he gets tired quickly, complete joke White and snoddy are next, becchio is the only realistic player at our club, think warnock should add a few more to the plans of building a new squad, plenty better talent out there that have good heads on them

Kevin Doyle will return to Reading this summer for £4.25 million. Brian is fond of Kevin and believes in can play a vital part in Reading's ambition to remain premiership status. Yakubu also but wages too high as in wants £30k a week. Carlos Sanchez is also a key target for mid-field due to him being out of contract. Nicky Hammond met with Carlos this week (apparently). Also Nicky Shorey is in talks following his release from WBA as support for Ian Harte. Jordan Rhodes is also on the cards with Church going on loan the other way for the season. 2 fantastic pieces of news for Ipswich fans tonight! ITFC are set to sign 2 new players next week.

Firstly, the long awaited arrival of Joel Ward will be announced on tuesday morning. Although he's set for talks with Sheffield Wed, and Blackpool his weekend, he has his heart set on ITFC. He is massively impressed with the clubs football ground and training facilities, as well as being impressed with what Jewell and Hutchings had to say.

Secondly, Sam Baldock will join Ipswich Town on loan on tuesday morning as well. The deal will be for 12 months, with no re-call in the deal. Big Sam, who is best friends with Jewell, wants to give Baldock the chance to play regulary in the Championship.

Believable0 Unbelievable4

To the deluded Southampton fans who believe they are a better club than wolves. I have a few questions, have you ever won the top flight? Have you ever beaten real Madrid? Have you ever had an Englishman to captain his country earning 190 caps? I do believe the answer is no!!

Believable3 Unbelievable2

Are you in the premiership? Do you have an academy producing some of the finest talent around. The past is the past we have won things but what's most important is now are you an ambitious club on the up? No I've watched wolves and there utter deoss

Agree0 Disagree0

The History of a club does not decide weather you are a big club, it tells us you have a great History and you should be very proud of that.
To be considered a big club you have to be playing in the top league for a start. You have to have an infrastructure in place to generate talent from within which Saints have. Even top teams like Barcelona, Real, Man U, Arsenal etc.. all still produce young talent through the Youth Academies even though they can afford to spend big.
Dont get me wrong if Wolves get back to the Prem then yes you could probable be as Big a club then Saints and maybe bigger but if you are saying who is the bigger club at present then i am sorry to say Saints are the bigger club.

Agree0 Disagree0

The 50's/60's means chuff all now. Wolves are an average Championship sized club.

Saints are no bigger to be fair!!

love the muppets who say saints will be a relegation club.. stupid or what.. learn some facts guys before talking poo. southamptonfc happen to be the 5th richest club in the uk and have THE best youth academy and training facilities. we are still ranked the 14th best ever team the the premier league and aint been in it for 7 years. if norwich and swansea can do what they did with what resources they have (ex saints youth and players) then southampton fc could be upsetting alot of people next season. the gap between 10th in the prem and the championship is tiny.. not the vast gap you philistines think. FACT

Believable3 Unbelievable1

To go on record n say you have the best youth acdemey is ridiculas what about charton whu mau utd man city arsenal wolves villa all have good youth systems

Agree0 Disagree0

We have one of the best, not the best Barcelona is by far the best but Southamptons has produced Walcott bale chamberlain would you say no to them in your team? You cannot say southamptons academy isn't good and the fact we applied for The top rating as a championship team compared to clubs like man u who have a worldwide fan base and far more income then Southampton who still manages to compete with these clubs yet are more attractive to English talent as the likes of man united prefer forgien players where saints are known to bring there youth through.

Southampton aim to have a team 50% of academy players in the prem. who else has that?

Agree0 Disagree0

First of all the original poster was probable a Skate if he was not then one of our duluded fans which all clubs have. We do have a very good academy and training facilities, not the best but very good because of that we have produced a number of very good players over the years.
If this was a Saints fan posting the comment then he should no that our main priority next season will be to try and maintain our Premiere League status, anything more then that will be a massive bonus. so if you are a Saint then shut up posting stupid comments. {Ed025's Note - well said mate, and very sensible comments..

Interesting times ahead for Reading. Loads of rumours on here linking other clubs with Adam le Fondre, but he was Reading's leading scorer last season, so to let him go must mean there is a prolific new scorer in the pipeline, which is going to cost money. With the takeover not happening yet, still not sure whether Sir John Madejski is prepared to spend £5 million or whatever the price is depending on what rumour you read on Jordan Rhodes, Jermaine Defoe, Michael Owen's wages, etc. Would not be too sure of anything you read on here until the takeover actually happens of any in or out going players with huge sums of money involved. Readings ethos is not to over commit financially - do not expect that to change.
