Liverpool are looking to tie up deals for Mohammed Diame and David Hoilett this week, both players are free agents next month. Liverpool are looking to clear a number of players off their wage bill Alberto Aquilani,Dirk Kuyt,Jay Spearing,Fabio Aurelio,Dani Pacheco,Brad Jones,Maxi Rodriguez and Nathan Eccleston look set to leave the club. Joe Cole may yet have a future at the club Daglish wants to see how he does pre-season. Kenny is due for talks with John Henry and Co. next week over his future and to discuss what happened during the season, next seasons transfer budget and targets etc.. Ciaran Clark of Aston Villa is another surprise target for Liverpool while they will also look to add a back up striker next year, Gary Hooper and Jermaine Defoe are being considered. Liverpool may be looking to strenghten but no offence to the players mentioned they are good in their own right just not world class and while Liverpool sign the likes of Diame,Hoilett,Clark,Hooper all the other big clubs will be signing top talent like Podolski,Hazard,M'Vila,Cavani etc. the club will fall further behind if we don't splash on the best players we can get without CL football.

Believable0 Unbelievable2

Why would Hoilett go to Liverpool. A mid table side without suarez. And he will be off this summer. Liverpool a few years ago could attract big players and get CL football not anymore. There not a big club and sooner you see this the better. You have a rubbish manager and pay stupid money for average players. Plus it's been over the papers you don't have any money to spend.

Derby have lost the race for Heidar Helguson, it is believed that Watford will win the race landing him on a 2 year deal for a fee of £300,000.

Kyle Lafferty is being lined up by the Rams boss Nigel Clough but Derby will face strong competetion from Blackburn, Bolton, and Ipswich. Its believed that the Rams could fall short as they can't compete financially with the 3 clubs mentioned.

Other targets for the Rams are Michael Jacobs, Tommy Smith (though Leeds have shown an interest).

Watford possible signings:

This is a message to All Blackburn fans from a Liverpool fan. What has materialised this year by your club owners and your manager is despicable. A manager who must have had a big bump on his head at the start of the season, when making comments "we are good enough to make a top 6 finish, and maybe challenge for CL" what a complete ...., no wonder the supporters are so against him. His interviews are so far away from what it actually is, he must be up for an Oscar. And to be owned by a family of chickens, could it get any worse. Maybe with new owners and manager, you will be back, GOOD LUCK.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

.....or perhaps GOOD CLUCK is more appropriate.

Agree0 Disagree0

This is to the first Liverpool fan
From a sunderland fan. Your manager is a joke your living in the past your no longer a top 4 team more like mid table.you can't attract big players anymore you have no more money to spend without selling due to your joke of a managers spending spree. So that will be Suarez off then and without him you don't score. I predict lower table for you next season.

Reading look like favourites to snap up the very much sort after midfielder Jarvis, with prospective owner Anton Zingarevich looking to splash up to £6 million to ensure the player makes his way to the Madejski for the 2012/13 season in which Reading are aiming for a respectable league position with their newly bolstered squad.

though it was fantastic for derby

Leeds' talks with Varney were only preliminary, whereas Ward is rumoured to be in negotiations over a contract, with a fee having already been agreed with Portsmouth for his services. Ipswich have also agreed this fee, so it's coming down to who offers the player the best path to the Premier League. New rumours surfacing that it could have been Aidan White, the young winger, who requested wages of 15k-a-week. If so: a) my opinion of him has dropped significantly and b) Adam Clayton has been treated very harshly. Leeds gave White the chance, now he should repay the favour, even if he only signs a short extension.

Now the rules have changed we will beable to take young players all over country. Before the change some L2 clubs had much bigger area to pick boys from. Now we are on a level playing field we can go back to how we used to turn out young players at norwich. We might go down nx season, one thing for sure how when we do drop leeds still be there. And to wolves fan , hope u injoy your trip to leeds nx season. I dont expect your stay in 2nd tier to last to long .looking forwad to going back watch to watch norwich at wba & aston villa.

Besides the fact that trying to read your post was equivalent to deciphering the da vinci code. I'm sick of the idiotic comments that seem to believe we have no chance of going up. Fair enough if you knew what our team is going to be like, but we don't even have a team at the moment to comment on. You will be eating your words come May.

Yea but you still have a poor youth set up and Leeds is 1 of the best and you still haven't won a top league tital and even won the FA cup or played in Europe, but still were a small club with a bigger fan base than you, you can laugh at us but your club came down to league 1 swell and your club hasn't really achieved much really at the top level your just there to make the numbers up

Agree0 Disagree0

Your just a team full of leeds players. SAD MAN!! mot4life

Iceman

Believable6 Unbelievable5

Every country has a hooligan problem but i think in eastern europe they are where we were in the 70s and 80s so i dont think we have the biggest problem now, dont get me wrong we still have our fair share of idiots.

I love the fact that supporters of other teams call us Saints a small club! I think you might find we are in fact one of the richest clubs in Europe if not the world! However the club is careful about how it operates now. Whether we stay up or go down we will enjoy the ride. We deserve it after the sxxt we have put up with over the last 7 years and the stick from that skint jealous lot down the road. COYR!!

Believable7 Unbelievable2

Haha that made me laugh lol you worry what people right on here a page on the internet you need to get out more mate

Rich doesn't mean your a big club.

Reading's new owners in waiting make the club 9th richest in the world, yet they don't think they're a big club.

In fact they admit they could become a big club, as Saints hope to do as well.

Stop getting above yourselves. Saints are a nothing club that hung around like a bad smell in the top flight for a good while, is all.

Rich doesnt make you a big club

as an fellow Ipswich fan I think Leeds are going to really going to tick every club off because of the players they are buying!
For example I January pearce and ward were done deals but the personal details were a stumbling block. 4 months on pearce has signed for leeds and ward is very close to doing tht aswell.

This shows we can't compete with teams like Leeds on
wage demands which shows alot in the club not being ambitious enough!

Sadly I think Ipswich will be at te bottom half or the table like always!
Lastly SACK PAUL JEWELL

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I don't think you know our chairman if you think this is the case haha

The only thing that now plays into Leeds' hands is the new fair play rules. Due to capping wages at 20k per player means that we can beat most teams in the league to players due to our facilities and heritage etc and i dont mean that in a we are bigger than you speech, just that in comparison to most teams in the league we have been in the top division for longer and capitalised on making ourselves a renowned club in English football.

It has nothing to do with wages, trust me 100%.

We have had our transfer troubles as well, other clubs hijacking our targets and other clubs taking our best players, we was after stockdale and boywer last season but your club snatched them but that's the way it goes, its a right pain just to left with the scraps, just now things are looking up at Leeds now coz we have warnock and love him or hate him he is an honest man and a brilliant record at the level and having a big transformation at Leeds so it looks interesting to other players, if jewell did they same I'm sure he could get the targets

Look at the size of the populations, dee da is small small. Leeds is the second biggest City outside London with the worldwide fan base.

Believable3 Unbelievable2

And you still can't fill your ground so what's that say about your fans with all this so called worldwide fan base

Agree0 Disagree0

No it isn't, far from it in fact!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Accually birmingham is thats why its called the 2nd city :-s n wolves got a bigger fan base than you

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeh that's right Wolves have a bigger fan base than us what a horrendous comment. The year we got relegated our average attendance was 36,666, two thousand less than eventual winners Arsenal. Also prior to that we have always been in the top 5 supported clubs averaging around 40 thousand a year before relegation. Furthermore this year we averaged 24 thousand, in a very poor year, and wolves averaged 25 thousand in the premiership.

Leicester, Southampton, Reading and Ipswich are all battling it out to sign every player in British football regardless of cost to the club in terms of wages. Any players not signed by these four clubs will be signed by Charlton.

Some players signing for more than one of the clubs.

This rumour is something Ive established by reading the posts on here so they must be true.

Also many clubs to spend silly money on average players.

Right as we all know Carlos Cuellar and Emile Heskey are leaving so.... Replacements.

Defensively unfortunately I think we will get Scott Dann. Big Eck will definitely put a bid in. I also feel we need a quick yet solid full back. Someone like Wayne Bridge.

Midfield, we already have about 10 midfielders, 60% are kids. We obviously won't see Stiliyan Petrov next season. So we need some experienced heads with quality. Niko Kranjcar will be a good buy. Junior Hoilett will be a steel, but there will be stiff competition for him.

Strikers. Well we simply are not good enough at the moment. My shout will be Yakubu, a goalscorer! I also think Jermain Defoe will be a brilliant buy. He hardly plays for Spurs. Will he want to come to Villa though?? Robbie Keane was awesome for us during his short spell. Sign him up if we can.

Crawley are interested in signing Michael Jacobs from Northampton and Paul Hayes on loan from Charlton Athletic. Another player on the Red Devils' radar is Leeds' transfer listed striker Billy Paynter.

Hayes and Paynter, yeah. But Jacobs is attracting interest from the Championship, so forget that

To put rumour into truth, I've been analysing those about Peterborough United's Paul Taylor. I cannot confirm that Personal terms will be agreed, but there's been an enquiry from Leeds United. Paul Taylor valued at around 1.75million but with a year left could see him move to Elland Road for a fee in the region of 1.5million. As a scout of Leeds United I have attended 6 games at London Road including the home and away legs against Leeds. Another player on Leeds United's radar is George Boyd who is a hot target for us, where interest has been declared. Any Queeries do respond.

I was talking to Nigel Clough in a pub in Nottingham today and he told me that the Michael Jacobs deal was off. A fee of 500k had been agreed for the winger but the player himself turned down the wages that Derby offered him. He has been offered a chance to join Watford with the Hornets increasing the money Derby offered him by 50%.
