Brendan Rodgers has been given a reasonable warchest as the Liverpool owners see this as the last chance to recover before the club is regarded as out of contention for champions league finishes. Around £20 million will be available, but Rodgers will aim to free up some funds through sales. Aquilani, Rodriguez, Cole seem like the obvious players to be shifted on.
Rodgers is aiming to bring in Sigurdsson and expect this to be his first signing. This would suggest a change in formation, as sigurdsson is likely to play behind the striker. Therefore, as much as Liverpool fans may hate it, Suarez is the most likely sale if Rodgers decides he needs money to overhaul his squad.
Charlie Adam will not be sold; Rodgers sees him as his Leon Britton, and has aimed to sign Adam before.
The defence will be unaltered (unless anyone is sold), with the main focus on signing a couple of flying wingers.
The Kalou rumours are have no realism. The player wants to move abroad, and he doesn't fit the Liverpool bill. Also, Liverpool fans wouldn't be happy with signing Chelsea rejects and sub-standard players (this is where the Roy Hodgson reign went wrong, with Joe Cole and Paul Konchesky examples of these players).
My opinion now is that this could work two ways for Liverpool; it could be a huge success and bring rejuvenated excitement to Liverpool's attacking performances. So far however, it seems to be following the same trends shown after Roy Hodgson

Can't say I am overly bothered about signing any Liverpool players right now. They are a forgotten entity in football, having the odd good cup run here and there. Take away the blip of the Champions League flukey fightback and you have a team that has been steadily in decline ever since the backpass rule came in.

How can you say flukey fightback the champions league is played over the full season not 45 mins think before you post and no im not even a liverpool fan

David Healy has spoken to Bristol Rovers boss Mark McGhee and will agree a transfer to become the highest earner they've had in a few years now - since Rickie Lambert I've heard. Rovers are willing to finance the deal as they feel he will boost season ticket and shirt sales due to his 'big name' factor.

I honestly hope rangers don't get voted into the SPL. We can start from division 3. The first thing to go will be rangers' star players (davis,mcgregor etc). The second thing to go will be the £80m TV deal which would be worth around £3m per season to celtic. Add to that the £100k+ every team will lose from Away fans ... and it all adds up to ... Rangers not in debt ... everyone else in debt.

Rangers are going to get everything they deserve...The have consistanly acted in an unfair manner. money Doping of the highest order. They should be forced to restart in the lowest possible place in Scottish football. They are a huge embarressment and their punishment should send out a sound warning to ALL other football clubs.
