Where does everyone think liverpool will finish this season? I reckon 12th for the dirty reds. Their fans will enjoy watching united on the box in the CHAMPIONS LEAGUE

Believable4 Unbelievable3

Liverfool will go down, carroll will go and work as a pantomine horse and the deluded masses will finally wake up to the fact that chelsea are a much bigger team than them

Agree1 Disagree1

15th if they are lucky

Agree1 Disagree0

I'll certainly enjoy watching United get trounced by Barca, again. 'Chelsea a bigger club than Liverpool' and he says were deluded, oh my days. Ah, I shouldn't of taken the bait.

Agree0 Disagree0

Liverpools season will be over by christmas. United to make it title 20

Agree1 Disagree0

Who cares?

Agree0 Disagree0

Why all the Liverpool hate? is it because they actually spent money on improving a team unlike Chelsea or is it because Chelsea's old boys are just about past it and you can't score?

Agree0 Disagree0

Your borin mate change ya banter, your a joke

David James was at training today, with a smile on his face and working hard. He has not left the club and you will see him in his city shirt on saturday.
As for Nicky Maynard he will 100% be sold before the transfer window closes, most likely to be going to Leicester city but Bolton and west ham both have a good chance. Jon stead has been linked with several clubs which is not a surprise with his hard work rate.
Campbell-ryce has also been linked with 2 clubs.

spurs signing hulk? or rossi,

well lets put this to bed

i know a high ranking source at spurs, he has said repeatedly for months that spurs have to sale first before anyone of note can join, redknapp wants rid of defoe, crouch , keane, palacios , knanjcar , hutton , jenas
all the above players are up for grabs, but redknapp wont publicly admitt it, as it will lower any bids,
he is even leaking storys of players wanted hoping to convince modric and bale that spurs are trying to improve the team, but they have no money, and the above players up for sale are killing spurs via wages
spurs fans may have to settle for modric and bale staying this summer,
also a point worth stating spurs have spent alot of dosh over the last few seasons, which has allowed them to compete for champ league place, its not purely down to redknapp being a great manager, but as i stated spurs fans sud remember the out-lay of the last few yrs and accept they have a squad full of expensive players

Believable2 Unbelievable5

I know an even higher ranking source at Spurs and they have asked me to ask you to turn yourself in to the asylum so you can have your medication.

Agree0 Disagree0

An even bigger problem 4 the spuds is they can put these players up 4 sale but there aint many takers who are going to pay the same wages so are the players going to take a massive drop in wages at another team that is going no where

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Aug 2011 19:40:49
Unbelievable but true Scott Dann wage demands were more than the combined amount of woodgate and upson together no wonder stoke pulled out of the deal , THE EVENING SENTINAL

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Obv , woodgate shud be on a pound a week with his injury record n upson is like 32 n never was any use

Agree0 Disagree0

Why, are you actually paying Woodgate and Upson then? I thought woody was on a pay as you play deal?

Agree0 Disagree0

He is but he is fit at the moment and hopefully will be for a while

Agree0 Disagree0

Well if he wants too much money and is over priced, liverpool is right up his street, they do like spending big on average players.

Just cos chelsea havent won the european cup doesnt mean that they aint big, chelsea are the biggest and always have been. Look at spurs they aint won it but they have had the best team of any in britain ever and most of liverpools wins were lucky flukes. Chelsea rule.

Believable1 Unbelievable3

they flukely got to 7 european cup finals and won 5 pffffffffft, plus not to mention the 3 eufa cup wins and 18 lge titles , yes spurs are bigger than chelsea, but small clubs compared to liverpool, trophy haul says it all, chelsea were est in 2004

to all you southampton fans who think you wil sign jay rodriguez.hahajays a good friend of mine.hes recently signed a new deal, ready 2move into his new appartment and knows if he has another good year hel end up at a top prem club without having to move out of the north west,at this moment in time he would never dream of moving down south to a club whos no better than the team hes supported as a boy.DREAM ON

.... Another good year and Southampton could be a "top prem club", at least you've got the common sense to admit Burnley won't be. Saints don't need to sign Jay Rodriguez, we've got Ricky Lambert. Its fun seeing you taking the bait about him leaving though. He'd be better of with us to be honest, he'd get to sit on the bench and watch decent football being played every week.

On the Liverpool left back problem I believe that we would be better off signing no one until January. With Aurelio playing at most one a week now that we are not in Europe, the emergence of young Jack Robinson and with Johnson able to fill in at left back I feel we would be better off spending the money on a reliable centre back such as Dann, Shawcross or Cahill. I f we do move for a LB I would be disappointed to see Enrique come in. Now to be honest I did not see a whole lot of him last season (and I know he was meant to have had a pretty good season) bar the Liverpool game where we beat them 3-0, where he was shocking. Also don't expect any more attacking options to come in until next season unless a major clear out occurs.

AS A LEICESTER FAN PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE CAN WE SIGN A 25 GOALS A SEASON MAN SOON

Believable0 Unbelievable0

No, you can have a £25m 4-goals-a-season man.

Agree0 Disagree0

Who would you like? Hopefully you have a list of strikers to hand that are guaranteed to score 25 goals (minimum) this season. Obviously it'd have to be a very clever list to guarantee those goals and it wouldn't be based on past history, previous scoring records or a 'hunch' - if you want a guaranteed 25 goals this season, i suggest you get your crystal ball out.

You can demonstrate against Sisu all you like, it won't make a scrap of difference. As majority shareholders they own the club and they will do precisely what they want, regardless of what anyone thinks, says or does.

So far, Coventry City Football Club has cost them somewhere between £30-million and £40-million and for that "investment" they've got nothing back. As investment brokers that is not how they operate.

They obviously won't let it go on much longer anyway, although they have said they will keep it going for another year. They are obviously not keen on doing business with Gary Hoffman, so it would be no surprise if they simply closed it down completely, though probably not until the end of the season.

Demonstrate if you like, it's highly unlikely that it will make any difference to Sisu.

Believable2 Unbelievable1

They can't close Coventry City Football Club down completely; the city has 300k residents and deserves a football team (no ridiculous jibes about attendances, please... if you are a football fan, why not try acting like one and show some respect). The meeting with Hoffman is 24th August... just because SISU don't want to play ball, does not mean they won't sell. Just because we are long suffering, doesn't mean we can't survive. The most likely bet is that they will knock Hoffman back, we will go into administration and then Hoffman + investors will buy the Club for peanuts and we start again next year in whatever division we end up.

glasgow rankers offer £650,000 + kyle laugherty to norwich for grant holt, take it or leave it final offer

Leave it thanks. Hed rather stay where he is and play in a real league for a team where he has achieved near legendary status in 2 seasons under one of the brightest young managers in the game.

Scottish football is a joke.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Can someone tell me who this is about?

Agree0 Disagree0

I have heard nothing about any interest from Rangers in Grant Holt.I do not think he is good enough for Rangers. His goal scoring rate in the championship is poor.Ross McCormack has scored more than him in one season. And I do not want him to.I think last nights scores in the cup.Has shown that the championship is a poor league.Where Holt made his name.

Agree0 Disagree0

Rangers are not good enough for him dont you mean? The lower leagues are where your SPL are at isnt it? Same standard.

Agree0 Disagree0

No I was talking about Holt not being fit to play for Glasgow Rangers. He was not even the best striker in the championship last year. Its rare Rangers will sign a player from that league. The reason for that is we are not Celtic. And there is better players to buy in the SPL.This is why Rangers have won three in a row.Grant Holt do me a favour. The guys so old,and as I am aware has never played in the EPL till now,he is about 30 or something to.

A few rumours from the SHIP after the Lytham proms this weekend.

It appears that there are not a lot of happy footballers around this area with players from PRESTON NORTH END, BLACKBURN & BLACKPOOL having a few beers to drown their sorrows.

PNE are bracing for another couple of departures in the next few weeks with ADAM BARTON off to BURNLEY, PAUL COUTTS & NEIL MELLOR also want to leave ASAP and both are pushing for a low fee transfer to any club that will take them.

Strangest rumour involved IAIN HUME and a possible bid from a "local" club for his services as he's really unhappy with PNE's recruitment policy for unknown cheap players from germany

One BLACKPOOL player who was far from happy this weekend as his wages have been cut in half by the owner KARL OYSTON and he refused all weekend to buy anyone drink as he said he couldnt afford the price of a pint.

BLACKPOOL are discussing loan deals from LIVERPOOL and EVERTON which could come off before the end of the month.

BLACKBURN have offers for SAMBA, NELSEN & DUNN on the table and do expect an offer for SALGADO from abroad before the window shuts.

There were also mentions that BLACKBURN are discussing 3 quality signings before the window shuts.

Believable2 Unbelievable2

Hey a rumour thats turned out to be true.

Seems Peterborough have come in for Paul Coutts and it's just been announced by PNE this afternoon (after this post)

Can see Barton leaving but why does it have to be to Burnley.

Celtic Fan here

To the lad that slated Scottish football last week....did you see the Celtic Legends v Manchester U Legends last night? 54thousand folk showed up to support a charity game Half of the EPL teams don't get that for a top game, the other half don't have stadiums that big

DazzaBhoy

Believable0 Unbelievable0

You cant compare a charity match to a normal football match... i would have went if i had the chance so that i could help out as well as watch a few legends like yorke an i dont support neither club.

Agree0 Disagree0

A lot more quality clubs down here even in League 2. You know of League 2 dont you? Its your entry level of football down here.

Agree0 Disagree0

Take away sky sports money from english leagues and see how you get on {Ed001's Note - you mean like when English teams were dominating in Europe before the Sky money came in? Such a stupid nonsensical argument, Sky pay the money because of the standard of the league. The English league is better because of the size of population and because the money is spread more evenly than north of the border (though the spread is still far too much in favour of the Premier League). Until Celtic and Rangers stop greedily gobbling up every bit of cash floating around up there it will remain uncompetitive and uninteresting to TV audiences.}

Agree0 Disagree0

League 2 do me a favour.Its like us shouting about the first division being good.Even though it is one of the hardest leagues to predict in the country.The teams there always seem to knock SPL teams out each year.Ross County knocked Celtic out a few years back.We do not try and drum it up to be special though.Like these morons that follow Championship teams do.And first division teams are not even all full time. {Ed001's Note - you might want to look at UEFA's competition rankings before making ludicrous comparisons. The Championship is ranked higher by UEFA than most countries top flight, usually it is ranked in the top 5 of all the leagues in Europe. Instead of knocking the English game, you might be better off trying to learn from it and figuring out why the Scottish game doesn't have the same kind of support for it's teams (other than Celtic and Rangers) that lower league teams in England get. There is clearly a huge love of football up there, but it needs to be spread to more than just the two clubs. I know I am simplifying things a bit, but that is a major part of the problem and lack of competitiveness.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Well said ED never thought of it like that, with all of the revenue due to their huge support they allready have one hell of an advantage but they still rob the smaller clubs of money, does actually make you think how well the HIB`S, Hearts and others have done over the years under such unfair curcumstances, maybe if the league was of a better standard the glasgow teams may do better in europe which is what they crave for, after all 4 or 5 competitive games a year is not good practice for the champions league is it, because of your income thats all you are doing is over paying, overated players who can no longer cut it in the P/L or Championship

Agree0 Disagree0

Re well said ed.
so you think players like mattews, izaguirre, brown, commons, ledley, kayal and hooper can not cut it in the championship. your lack of knowledge of celtic fc is outstanding. i think the old firm have done well in europe taking into account the size of our population and lack of tv funds. if sky put more money into the spl then it would be a better product, catch 22 if you ask me.

Agree0 Disagree0

The SPL is the most supported league per square mile in Europe.Also I saw the West Ham V Cardiff game and it was empty.Crowds in the SPL are down though.But still the best supported league for our population in Europe.For a Ed its you who should learn.As its clear that you do not know what your talking about.SPL clubs need to drop prices to fill stadiums.Even Motherwell have had crowds u bye 10 per cent this year.As there are playing good football.SPL does not need to learn from the championship.The championship is only big cos of TV money.And even then there is a lot of poor teams in it.The gulfs huge between the top end of the table and the bottom.And I was right about the cup,showing it up to be as week as I said. {Ed001's Note - you are talking nonsense, no one is filling their ground in Scotland, other than Rangers. It is not TV money that makes the Championship big, it is the fact that every team gets decent gates. You can spout all the nonsense you like but you clearly are just bitter about the fact that England has a product that people around the world want to watch, unlike Scotland. Everyone outside Scotland sees it as Celtic v Rangers, that needs to be changed or it will never go anywhere. After all the EPL has been pretty much a two horse race every year as well, but people perceive it to be a very competitive league, the same in Spain. It is that you need to change. By the way judging crowds by the number of people at what has become a meaningless cup competition is senseless. As is talking about how well supported per head of population the SPL is, you seem to have forgotten that professional football in England consists of 4 full divisions of professional teams and most of a 5th. No other country in the world has as many professional football teams as England.}

Agree0 Disagree0

In the early to mid 90ties,the world did watch the SPL.There was money from Sky flushing around in it.Even smaller teams like Dundee,were signing super stars like Claudio Cannigia.Then the Glasgow Police thought it would be a good idea,to put the derby on at noon.So it would stop a lot of bother.When that happened world wide interest was lost.As the game would be on in the middle of the morning in some nations.So the Sky deal was lost.Then BS SKY B went bust after that.So again Scottish football lost money.I am not bitter at all.I am from Glasgow the home of international football.We can hold our heads up high with anybody from any City in the world on a football level.You know the City that produces more EPL managers than your whole nation?Also I know plenty of folk from abroad,that loves our game.The championship is poor standard.England gets more crowds,as there is more work in England to.When there was work in Scotland.We used to fill out all our grounds.And we can again if we leave the union. {Ed001's Note - the Championship is of a very high standard, that is why it is ranked as a top 5 league by UEFA.}

Agree0 Disagree0

If im not mistaken this a good bit higher than ur average attendance?

you cant compare a charity game to your normal matches

Agree0 Disagree0

The championship relies on singing SPL players.More SPL players are in the championship, that vice versa. And that is a fact.So how championship fans can slag the SPL is beyond me.Also I am not just talking about Scots, that have made the move there.Plenty of third rate players from the continent have made the move there from the SPL.And been stars in it,like Sol Bamba and Jullion Speroni.

Notts County Vs Nottm Forest
County played extremely well and deserved to win, but an appauling ref was to blame for the loss; he seemed to give everything in their favour, and for the first goal, the freekick they scored from was a fair challenge. For the second, there was another freekick which wasn't, and a hint of offside, and then for the third goal he added 2 minutes on to extra time when nothing had happened, and in he 123rd minute Forest scored the equaliser-WTF is going on? - Forest weren't Championship standard on that display, and County will win league 1 playing like that.

It seems the world and his dog want to take Leicester's Jeff Schlupp on loan but they're going to have to think again after the young striker scored an 18 minute hat-trick against Rotherham in the Carling Cup last night.

Rumour had it that Charlton were best placed to take the kid but Sven clearly wanted a closer look at the boy and included him in a strong Leicester side. Sven was also taking a long look at Adam Le Fronde although much depends on what, if anything, happens with Matt Derbyshire. The Daily Mail report that Derbyshire has signed for Leicester, but it's the Daily Mail, and they're crap.

Thanks must go to Hull, Ipswich, Coventry and Derby for amusing us all with first round exits (i bet you didn't want to win it anyway) and more thanks to the East Midlands biggest ever club, who needed penno's to get past mighty Notts County...pfft

Crisp muncher are we?

Agree0 Disagree0

Yup, not that it makes a difference, what i posted is fact not rumour. Schlupp scored an 18 minute hat-trick on his debut for the first team (fact) Sven has spoken this morning and said he has ditched his plans to loan him out (fact) and we all enjoyed watching Forest s**t themselves V's Notts County (fact) we also enjoyed watching other C'Ship teams get flattened bu minnows (fact)

Bitter are we?

Agree0 Disagree0

Oh yes i forgot this bit, Sven has now distanced us from Derbyshire and says he hasn't even enquired about him. Sven wants a striker who scores more than 6 goals a season. Hopefully he'll go to Florest, he's a bit young for them but he's just about good enough to get into the first team.

'Sven wants a striker who scores more than 6 goals a season'

So, on last season's form, that rules out Steve Howard, Darius Vassell and Martyn Waghorn. Best keep looking, you lost Yakubu and your only other '6 goal + striker' on last season's form is Nugent.

PS - I'm aware that a couple of midfielders scored more than 6 for you last season, but thought it was probably worthwhile pointing out to this thick, brash and abusive Leicester fan the fact that he is embarrassing himself.

PPS - I'm not even a Forest fan The more of these posts I casually read, the more of a passing dislike develops for all things LCFC. Pride comes before your Club implodes. Fingers crossed..

I posted the crisp muncher bit. You assume rather too much. I do not support ANY team you mentioned. Just a bit cheesed off with FACTS as you call them on here its either Rumour or Banter NOT FACT Most of the fact or drivel is from your clubs supporters anyway. Hope that explains it as i think even a SIMPLETON would post fact instead of rumour. Hope that isnt you.

'Rumour had it that Charlton were best placed to take the kid'

'Sven was also taking a long look at Adam Le Fronde'

'what i posted is fact not rumour'

Ahem, bullsh*t. You state the initial line is a rumour and you guess the second line. I put it to you that you are a blagger and a simpleton, who believes that the money will stay around forever.

Cool?「どィャカ it?「どィび「s either one doughnut who?「どィび「s taken offence, or a collection of doughnuts (a herd?) who have collectively stuck their bottom lip out for a good old sulky wulky, here goes.

Steve Howard is rumoured to be a target for a number of clubs and is guaranteed to be surplus to requirements when a new striker is signed. Darius Vassell is in a similar position, age is not on his side and whilst he?「どィび「s still being picked, his days at the club are well and truly numbered. Finally, Waghorn has already been discussed as a possible make-weight in a deal to bring Nicky Maynard to the club, and that came from the Horses mouth via an interview with the Leicester Mercury.

I?「どィび「m not in the least bit concerned which club you follow, you?「どィび「re just another sad, jealous little man in my book. Hope that?「どィび「s ok? Pride comes before a fall, hopefully your head will now fall off?「どィャカ fingers crossed.

Doughnut No2

I didn?「どィび「t suggest you were a fan of the teams mentioned in the original post, that was just you getting your panties in a bunch. The original post was placed in the ?「どィび「banter?「どィび「 section, presumably because I enjoyed looking at the results from the lesser teams, particularly Florest. Hopefully that fits with your guidelines? The original post was also placed in the wee small hours, ages before the Leicester Mercury confirmed what I said in my post. My original post was an opinion (a rumour if you like) but was quickly turned into a FACT by the local newspaper, I?「どィび「ll call them and tell them not to do it again so I don?「どィび「t upset my gormless little buddy, how?「どィび「s that?

Doughnut No3

Charlton have been linked with a loan move for Schlupp for weeks, it?「どィび「s pretty tough to make stuff like that up when the same rumour is published on a range of different websites, some official, some not so official?「どィャカ G.O.O.G.L.E - it?「どィび「s a wonderful invention, you should try it sometime, assuming you can pull your head out of your arse long enough to give it a go.

Sven is in need of a new striker, Adam Le Fronde is available, Sven was at the game, Le Fronde was playing?「どィャカ shall I join the dots for you now or are you just about there on your own? Once again, I?「どィび「d point you in the direction of a source, but by now you should have this Google thing down, go on, give it a go.

You put it to me? Bwaaaaaa I?「どィび「m guessing that you think you?「どィび「re bright? Seriously my little nobjockey, it?「どィび「s time to get yourself outside. Ask your Mum for a packed lunch and try to talk to some girls, or boys, or sheep?「どィャカ just go outside, leave the spare room and go fetch yourself a life, you can do it

Anyhoo jealous girls, Leicester City won 4-1 last night, the 18yr old boy who scored three of the goals is staying put and life is wonderful?「どィャカ don?「どィび「t you just hate that? BWAAAA HA

What an extraordinary child this person is. Dear oh dear. You can tell its the school holidays. Maybe his mummy will take him to the doctors for a brain test.

I think you might be heading for the maximus route on here.

'jealous girls'

Spend more time in your economics class and less time in playground name calling 101, you little tyke. Woeful level of banter, Leicester is ashamed of you.
