Nicky Maynard and a player from Falkirk were seen watching Wigans recent game against Bournemouth, Uwe Rosler passed on his media responsibility to discuss terms with both of them after the match

13 Jan 2014 13:45:06
The bets for nicky maynard to join wigan are as low as 1/6 not sure about this Falkirk lad anybody know his name. We need a striker to get us some goals come on rosler!

13 Jan 2014 16:34:49
Jay Fulton was believed to be close to joining from Falkirk in November. Assumed it was dead with Coyle going. maybe not?

13 Jan 2014 18:53:21
They took nicky Maynard off the because it was 1/6 for him to join wigan that means its pretty much a done deal I hope it is!

13 Jan 2014 21:47:05
Good news for us wigan fans grant holt is off to Aston villa to link up with Paul lambert again not sure whether its a loan deal or permenant basis but this means we can bring a striker in either Maynard on loan to be confirmed this week or somebody else!

14 Jan 2014 08:26:41
Holt move is supposed to be a loan, Dicko move was the one freeing up a place for Maynard

14 Jan 2014 11:34:23
Nicky Maynard should be a done deal on loan for us and so should grant holt for villa both having medicals. I can't see us wigan fans seeing anymore players join sadly I'd like to grab le fondre on loan or permanent instead of him being linked with barnsley

16 Jul 2013 13:29:54
Burton Albion 'super sub' striker Matt Paterson to sign for Falkirk by the weekend.

Doubt he will go north of the border. Oxford, Exeter or Torquay maybe - lives on the south coast! Will be missed at Burton.

Not by the manager he won't be

Didn't he trial at Oxford last year and they didn't sign him?

Lyle Taylor from Falkirk rejected Rotherham to sign for Sheffield United as the blades offered him 3k a week compared to rotherhams offer of 2. 2k a week.

Its a story on sky sports but nothing official yet

I think this guy is nervous of playing football again in the English leagues. Two blank years in England and one good one in Scotland - Stay there son - why risk another blank year!

Lyle needs to push the boat out! Going to Rotherham - with an ambitious chaiman - he knows that his career would develop - especially with the classy team of midfielders the Millers have. Staying in Scotland IS NOT A CHALLENGE but make it with Rotherham to the championship and THEN he can ask his own price!
what he is doing now is short term safety - LOOK FORWARD!

Lyle Taylor rejected Rotherham United as personal terms could not be agreed. Falkirk and Sheffield United agreed a fee for him today.

Basically he wanted to play for a bigger and better club with more potential for promotion that's a fact will put pen to paper later tonight

Even though we aren't getting lyle taylor we can still sign other potential strikers such as matt tubbs and jack redshaw so it isn't a great loss {Ed003's Note - Redshaw is out for months.}

Rotherham wouldn't offer any higher than £2, 500 for a Fringe Rotation Player; Sheffield United will offer £3, 500 for a Key First Team Player.

Theres the differences guys!

Wow that's incredibly cheap, only three thousand and five hundred pound for a player, btw the fee rothertham bid was around 150,000. And sources in Scotland e. g. The Falkirk herald reported united paid the same.

No news yet about a pen on contract - perhaps Sheff-U are also struggling about "TERMS".
But IF he does sign for Sheff-U and not Rotherham United - I doubt he will get the service that the Rotherham Midfield would provide - that's Lyle greatest mistake! But hay-ho It's will be his best chance to loose in the play-off's

Sorry mate but this sounds like a bit of sour grapes to me.

What he said, united have McDonald, mcfadzean, murphy, brandy and McGinn who all have great service, and all that eclipse Rotherham's midfield. I bet you are one of the people who when they thought he was signing said he was the best signing ever and when he rejected you slagged him off

No - NOT sour grapes - I say GOOD LUCK TO ALL SOUTH YORKSHIRE CLUBS!

Both Rotherham United and Sheffield United have seen potential in the lad - HE IS A RISK - one that Rotherham lost interest in when he wanted too much. So all Sheff-U have done is to allow Steve Evans spot the talent and THEN PAY THROUGH THE NOSE TO DO SOMEDIAMOND IN THE ROUGH - POLISHING. I hope it comes off for you BUT IT IS A RISK. UTM

Lol. UTB

Lol - Rather have Tubbs - but time will tell - UTM

Rotherham have missed on Lyle Taylor from Falkirk and Jack Redshaw from Morecambe as they placed a bid for both last week. Taylor rejected them to go to Sheffield United and Redshaw is injured for upto 7 months. Tubbs from Bournemouth still a possibility but he will take a lot of convincing to move up North so its unlikely. The most likely strikers to sign for Rotherham are Theo Robinson who is out of favour at Derby or James Collins as Swindon look to cash in on him. Also expect Evans to make another loan move for Swansea forward Rory Donelly despite saying he's ended his interest in him.

Redshaw, is injured and out for 7 months.

Yes, he says that about redshaw.

Now being reported that Kevin McDonald has left Swindon by mutual concent

Broken promises on transfer funds are apparently the reason he left. Although Swindon fans will probably tell you they're loaded and Mourinho is coming in!

I don't think many Swindon fans would say we were loaded. We are now trying to live as a sustainable club

09 Jul 2013 21:41:42
taylor refused terms with Rotherham who offered the 200k wanted hibs look to come in with offer of £150,000 which Falkirk will except

Except or accept ha

I don't think many fans wanted him after his spell with Bournemouth, think we need a really proven striker so I'm quit glad about this one

Scott Arfield formally of Falkirk and Huddersfield on trial at Burnley, playing in friendly tonight vs Morcambe.

Yes but he never made an impact was taken off halfway through the second half, so dyche wasnt impressed

As a Huddersfield fan, al give you Burnley fans a balanced few of scotty. he is a a player who shows glimpses of great quality for example is 30 yard screamer against mk dones a few years back, and works incredibly hard. but at times is very rash with the ball at his feet and gives away possession, all in all he showed potential, but never lived upto it at town. I hope he does well for his next club whoever that maybe, a cracking lad who is worth a try.

"Yes but he never made an impact was taken off halfway through the second half, so dyche wasnt impressed"

Absolute rubbish, Scott came off with 2 other players. Dyche has confirmed he is travelling with the Clarets to ROI and will play in Monday's game v Cork City.

He played well last night, Sean Dyche was quite impressed and he's coming along on Burnley's trip to Cork tomorrow with the rest of the squad.

peterborough are set to up their interest in lyle taylor of falkirk. scored 24 goals last season to help get them promoted. £750k my be enough to seal the deal.

Falkirk didn't get promoted they finished 3rd or 4rth

Fee would be nowhere near that amount.

Many Falkirk fans seem to think itd be under 500k from what I've seen

I think you have got the wrong boro that lyle Taylor is going to.

Seems like the sort of player Peterborough would buy, but I think this won't happen soon, if at all depending on if Sinclair, Ajose, Barrnett are still here, and how Janni and Shaq do in the pre season

Shhhh!! don't tell everyone about Janai and Shaq they are our little secret. These clowns will find out the hard way. I can hear them now Peterborough unearth more Gems!

I know for a fact the following strikers have been for talks with Rotherham. Not sure how close to a deal any are and some are probably dead in the water now but these have all definately had some contact with Steve Evans at the New York Stadium this summer.

Matt Tubbs - Bournemouth
Lyle Taylor - Falkirk
Lee Barnard - Southampton
Marcello Trotta - Fulham
Dani Lopez - Stevenage
Rory Donnelly - Swansea
Theo Robinson - Derby

Also been told Rotherham have had a bid rejected for James Collins at Swindon and won't be going back with another offer.

No way can Rotherham afford Collins anyway

30 Jun 2013 09:38:27
Matt tubbs seems to get homesick if he leaves his garden so can't see that one happening.

And why can't we afford collins? Swindon are in financial problems due to di canio and we still have the money from the le fondre sale! I would bd very suprised if collins started the season at swindon. Swindon will be lucky to stay in the league

Doubt theo would drop a league

The real question is would premiership/championship strikers drop to league 2?

30 Jun 2013 13:20:46
Is it me or rotherham are after bournemouth rejects lee barnard lyle taylor and matt tubbs that's mid table signings and I am a bournemouth fan

30 Jun 2013 15:44:42
Swindon don't have financial problems, they aren't in debt, yes all players would be sold for a price that is the same for every club in league 1 and 2, any players sold this pre-season were sold for market value, so anyone expecting to buy Collins will have to fork out 350-500k.

Unless a team can attract crowds of at least 20000 they are never going to get anyware don't know how bournmouth will fare in the championship, the players will have to be on top of their game.

Donnnelly will only go out on loan Swansea won't sell him got him marked down for the future.

20,000 crowds don't guarantee anything. If your team doesn't perform then you'll struggle.

29 Jun 2013 11:19:39
Peterborough will use part of the Dwight Gayle transfer fee to find moves for The following players:

Jack Payne - Gillingham
Marlon Pack - Cheltenham
Luke Freeman - Stevenage
Lyle Taylor - Falkirk

28 Jun 2013 16:35:40
Kilmarnock in advanced talks with ex Falkirk striker Daryl Duffy and Milwall full back Jack Smith

27 Jun 2013 23:01:26
Peterborough united to replace palace bound striker Dwight Gayle with Lyle Taylor from Falkirk

20 Jun 2013 22:42:08
Rotherham still showing interest in Lyle Taylor from Falkirk and Cliftonville strike Liam Boyce

These are type of players we should be signing-

15 Jun 2013 15:50:16
According to boro's website we are interested in Samba Sow (Lens), Javier Acuna (Real Madrid), Jacques Maghoma (Burton Albion), Josh King (Blackburn Rovers), Jamie Vardy (Leicester City), Josh Rees (Arsenal), Chris Herd (Aston Villa), Lyle Taylor (Falkirk), Sammy Ameobi (Newcastle United), David Lopez (Brighton and Hove Albion), Danny Graham (Sunderland), Tim Ream (Bolton Wanderers), Joszef Varga (Greuter Furth) and free agents Sylvan Ebanks-Black, Stephen Hunt, Gary Dicker and Dean Whitehead.

No way. When has Boro website ever said this?

It's not according to the clubs website really though is it? It's the club reporting on who the press and tv are saying we are interested in.

Sylvan Ebanks-Black lol

15 Jun 2013 20:52:47
Five of those are possible and e banks blake is NOT one of them. Wait until July 1st and you will know!

You are very welcome to Herdy!

The list is just who we have been linked with in the press, it would be ludicrous to go out and give our target list openly to the public

Tim Ream is going nowhere he has said it himself along with his agent. He is happy to stay at Bolton and fight for a place in the team.

Since when did we (burton albion) get promoted.

I'll pay villa to have sordell, awful, just awful. England really are s***, when players like that are supposedly the future. Bring elmander back, at least he could play.

15 Jun 2013 07:34:00
Falkirk striker Lyle Taylor is to sign for Peterborough United for an undisclosed fee.

No he is not posh chairman doesn't even know who taylor is

Can't see posh buying any striker the desperate to get the two young ones in McDonald and Hutton and could only maybe see saido from WBA getting a loan to us and if we sell Gayle they will pay big for some one who will get goals maybe wells

Chairman said he does know who he is and didn't deny the rumour

10 Jun 2013 17:18:24
Rotherham want to add 2 wingers to their side and have held talks with Jacques Maghoma (burton), Rob Milsom (aberdeen), Matt Lund (released by Stoke) and Courtney Cameron (released by aston villa).
Evans is also still wanting to add extra firepower so is still looking at past targets Rory Donnelly (Swansea) and David Goodwillie (Blackburn) who both came close to joining the millers on loan earlier this season. He's also interested in Dani Lopez (Stevenage), Lyle Taylor (Falkirk) and Simon Church (released by Reading).

Maghoma has signed for Middlesbrough
